Anne was raised an only child in her home town, by her father who was a businessman and her mother who was teaching at a local high school – Anne was mostly raised by her nanny as her parents spent most of their time working.

She became interested in acting while attending elementary school and was appearing in school plays after being encouraged by her teacher and upon enrolling at Marin Catholic High School, she continued acting while she also learned how to play the guitar, and was involved in a variety of sports.

Upon matriculation, Anne enrolled at the University of San Diego taking Political Science as major, and graduated in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Jordan was then helped by a friend to enter the stockbroking business, and he founded the brokerage house Stratton Oakmont, Inc. which started out as part of Stratton Securities. The brokerage house served only to defraud people and Jordan started attending parties, drank alcohol excessively, and took drugs. It was known that Stratton Oakmont was working illegally, and it was targeted by the police during its entire existence, while the critically acclaimed crime drama movie “Boiler Room” was inspired by it as well as the biographical black comedy crime film “The Wolf of Wall Street” in 2013which starred Leonardo DiCaprio as Belfort.

It was in December 1996 that the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) closed the brokerage house, and in 1999 Jordan was sent to jail for money laundering and security fraud.

He spent 22 months behind the bars out of the 48 months he was sentenced to, at the Taft Correctional Institution in California, and he had to repay around $110 million to the people he defrauded. In September 2007, Jordan released his award-winning autobiographical book “The Wolf of Wall Street”, followed by his second book “Catching the Wolf of Wall Street” on 24 February 2009. Both books are huge hits even today, and have been translated into 18 languages in 40 countries around the world. He has also written “Way of the Wolf: Become a Master Closer with Straight Line Selling” released in 2017.
