Life before the fame
Sara started working as a news reporter at WWAY News Channel 3 in August 2014, developing her career in the sphere of television broadcasting. At the beginning of 2015 she appointed the Director of Special Projects, and also began working as an on-air host.
The same year she started posting her videos on the Vine application, which was quite popular that year. She soon started getting more and more subscribers, and eventually found it hard to balance between her online activities and full-time job.
Social media career
At the beginning of 2016 Sara understood that this was too hard taking all of her energy – ‘I was calling my mom every day on the hour every hour, going back and forth. It was such a struggle. I was mentally and emotionally torn because that’s why I had gone to school for and trained for and paid all the big bucks to Auburn University for’, Sara shared in her interview to AOL. Her biggest fear was to not use her degree after getting it, as one doesn’t need to be an Auburn graduate to be a Viner.
However, in March 2016 she quit her job on TV to fully focus on her social media career, developing her Vine account, YouTube channel and Instagram profile at the same time.
At the end of 2016, she became one of the Shorty Awards finalists, ending as runner-up in the category “Snapchatter of the Year”, as Sara was an active user of the Snapchat app. By the time the Vine app was shut down, she had more than 950,000 subscribers, which was a true shock for Sara who quit her job to create content for the mobile app, but she had no regrets, then focusing on other social media platforms.

Sara started dating another Viner, Robert “Robby” Ayala, in 2015, and the couple became engaged at the beginning of 2017. Sara gave birth to her first child, Aidan Joaquin Ayala, on 10 September 2019, then made multiple posts on her Instagram account admitting she suffered from Postpartum Depression. She revealed that only proper medicine and therapy helped her to get out of the hell she felt, wanting the day to end before it even began: ‘I’ve been flooded with feelings of guilt, anxiety, inadequacy and emptiness all while having this crippling, overwhelming love for this new life. Sara also thinks that the birth trauma of her son influenced her state.
