Kerri Lee Green was born in 1967, in Fort Lee, New Jersey, USA, and is an accomplished American actress, writer, director and producer. She gained fame in the 1980s with memorable roles in iconic films such as “The Goonies” and “Lucas”, since when Kerri’s journey in the entertainment industry has been an inspiring one, as she’s managed to successfully navigate the challenges of Hollywood, while continuing to pursue her passion for storytelling.
Early life and education
Kerri grew up in Woodcliff Lake, New Jersey, and studied at Pascack Hills High School. Her passion for the performing arts became evident at an early age; she started taking part in various school plays and local theater productions when she was just six years old.
Recognizing her talent and drive, her parents encouraged her to pursue her dreams. In her teenage years, she studied acting at the esteemed Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre located in New York City, where she was taught by the highly respected acting coach, Sanford Meisner. Kerri made her cinematic debut in 1985 as the charming and resourceful Andy Carmichael in the cult classic comedy “The Goonies“, following a group of young misfits who embark on a treasure hunt to save their homes from foreclosure. Together, they follow a treasure map that leads them through a series of dangerous obstacles, including booby traps and underground caverns, in search of the long-lost treasure of the pirate One-Eyed Willy. The film was an instant hit, catapulting Kerri to fame. The movie’s success solidified her place in the industry as a promising young actress.
Also in 1985, Kerri appeared in another hit comedy, “Summer Rental”, which starred John Candy as a hard-working air-traffic controller, who encounters a series of mishaps during his family vacation.

In the following year, Kerri starred opposite Corey Haim and Charlie Sheen in the coming-of-age drama “Lucas”, written and directed by David Seltzer. The movie explores themes of teenage angst, friendship, and the challenges of adolescence. Corey Haim delivers a powerful performance as Lucas, capturing the character’s emotional depth and vulnerability. In the film, Kerri played the role of Maggie, a high school girl caught in a love triangle with Lucas, and was also praised for her performance.
In 1987, Kerri co-starred alongside Charlie Sheen again, in another comedy-drama “Three for the Road”, directed by Bill Norton.
