Who is Christine Elise McCarthy?
Christine Elise McCarthy was born in Boston, Massachusetts USA, on 12 February 1965 – her zodiac sign is Aquarius and she holds American nationality. She is an actress, perhaps best known for her portrayal of Emily Valentine in the romantic series “Beverly Hills, 90210” which was created by Darren Star and starred Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty and Luke Perry. The story follows several friends attending high school and after matriculation – the series aired from 1990 to 2000, and was very popular as it won 14 awards and was nominated for 23 others, including four Golden Globes.

There have been rumors circulating the internet that Christine has retired from acting, however, she is still pretty much active in the film industry. She has recently finished shooting for the crime family fantasy movie “Landfill”, in which she starred as Detective McCarthy, and she has also finished shooting as the lead character Karen in the short film “GAYCISM”.
Early life and education
Christine was raised as an only child in Boston by her parents who were both artists – her mother was a painter while her father was a photographer.
Christine became interested in acting at a very early age, as she spent a lot of her free time watching plays with her parents at a local theatre. She attended Boston Latin School where she was physically active as she enjoyed playing soccer and tennis, and after matriculation in 1983, she didn’t to pursue a college degree but focused on her acting career, while working multiple jobs to financially support herself.

She made her debut film appearance in 1988, when she portrayed Lorraine in the drama movie “The Town Bully”, which starred Bruce Boxleitner, Pat Hingle and Isabella Hofmann, and is about a man who is terrorizing a city and the people living in it. Her following role was in the movie “The Edge” in which she played Cute Blonde in 1989, while Christine gained recognition in 1990 when she starred as Kyle in the horror thriller movie “Child’s Play 2”, which also starred Alex Vincent, Jenny Agutter and Gerrit Graham, and is about a boy haunted by a toy Chuck that wants to kill him – the movie won a Saturn Award for Best DVD/Blu-Ray Collection.
In 1993, Christine starred as Jenn Platt in the science fiction horror movie “Body Snatchers”, which also starred Gabrielle Anwar and Meg Tilly, and is about a man and his teenage daughter who discover that aliens have masked themselves as humans. She reprised her role as Kyle in the sequel “Curse of Chucky” in 2013, while Christine’s most recent notable performance in a movie has been in “Cult of Chucky” in 2017 – the latest Chucky movie was written and directed by Don Mancini, starred Allison Dawn Doiron and Alex Vincent, and follows Chucky who is terrorizing a woman named Nica.
Roles in TV series
Christine is better known for her roles in TV series. She made her debut series appearance in 1989, when she portrayed Amy Laederach in the episode “Rookie School” of the critically acclaimed action adventure crime series “Baywatch”, and not long after that she was invited to portray the supporting character Rhonda Gielgud in the sitcom “Head of the Class”.
In 1990, Christine was cast as the supporting character Karen Lanier in the dramatic series “China Beach”, followed by her appearances in single episodes of both the American Northern comedy series “Northern Exposure”, and the mystery legal drama “Matlock” released in 1991.
She gained recognition in 1992 when she began portraying Lana Farren in the crime mystery series “In the Heat of the Night”, which starred Carroll O’Connor, Alan Autry and David Hart, and is about the police forces working in Sparta, Mississippi. In 1995, she portrayed Harper Tracy in 15 episodes of the medical series “ER”, and then in the following year guest starred in 13 episodes of the drama “L. A. Firefighters”.
She began the 2000s with her portrayal of Commander Ferraro in the legal drama “JAG”, and then guest starred in single episodes of several series such as the crime drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit”, the supernatural fantasy “Charmed” and the police procedural crime drama “Cold Case”.

Three of Christine’s latest and most notable performances in TV series have been 2016 in the episode “Upset” of the sports drama “Hit the Floor”, in which she portrayed Ob, the episode “The Pitch” of the comedy series “Get Shorty” in which she played Lydia in 2017, and in 2019 as Emily Valentine in five episodes of the comedy series “BH90210.
Other business ventures
Christine is a writer, having published her novel “Bathing & the Single Girl”, which she turned into a movie and directed the film herself. It was then shown at over 100 film festivals, and won around 20 awards. Christine has also produced episodes of several shows, including “Hellevator”, and has written a few episodes of the series “Beverly Hills, 90210”.
She is also a plant-based cook, and runs a YouTube channel on which she shares her cooking videos with the goal of teaching people how to prepare both healthy and delicious foods.
She is a professional photographer too, and many of her pictures can be found on her website as well as uploaded onto her Instagram account.
Love life and relationships
Christine and Jason Priestley met in 1990, while they were both still working their way up in the film industry. After two years of dating, they moved in together as it was cheaper as well as better as they would be closer to one another. They split in 1997 for unknown reasons – Jason went on to marry Naomi Lowde on 14 May 2005, and have a daughter Ava Veronica born on 2 July 2007, and welcomed their son in July 2009.
Christine has been keeping the details of her love life hidden from the media’s attention since her split from Jason, while many of her fans claim to have seen her with various men. There are also rumors claiming that Christine is a lesbian, but none of this has been confirmed or even addressed by the popular actress.
As of September 2020, she is single, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.
Hobbies and other interests
Christine likes to listen to pop, rock and metal music, and her favorite singer is Amy Winehouse – she has uploaded several pictures of Amy onto her Instagram account.

Christine is a traveler, and her career as an actress has made it possible for her to travel all around the US, while she has also spent some time living and working in London, England – she prefers to travel around Europe rather than around the North America.
