Brynn Thayer is an American actress, who came to prominence with the role of Jenny Wolek in the TV drama series “One Life to Live” (1979-1986), then as Maggie Judd in the TV drama series “Island Son”, and most recently as Lily Specter in the TV crime-drama series “Suits” (2017-2019), among other roles she has had in her career.

Brynn Thayer was born on the 4th October 1949, in Dallas, Texas USA; she is the daughter of William Paul Thayer who was a US Navy officer, a business executive, and his wife Margery. Her father was also a Deputy Secretary of Defense during the Reagan Administration; he passed away in 2010.
Career Beginnings and Immediate Success
Brynn went to Beverly Hills Playhouse acting school, and her career started in the late ‘70s with the successful role of Jenny Wolek in the soap opera “One Life to Live”, remaining in the series for the next seven years, appeared in 51 episodes. She received a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in the category for Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role in a Daytime Drama Series, and a Soap Opera Digest Award nomination in the category for Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role in a Daytime Serial, however, the actual prize evaded her.
After her stint ended, she auditioning for other roles and before the ‘80s ended she featured in television movies “Tonight’s the Night”, and “Ghost of a Chance”, both in 1987. She finished the decade with minor roles in such films as the western “Dead or Alive” (1988), starring Kris Kristofferson, and the action crime-drama “Hero and the Terror” (1988), with Chuck Norris in the lead role. She started the new decade with the part of Leanne McIntyre in the highly popular TV series “Matlock” (1991-1994), while from 1997 to 1998 she featured as Col. Rebecca Hodges in the TV series “Pensacola: Wings of Gold”.
Decline in Popularity
With the start of the new millennium, Brynn’s popularity began declining, and she appeared mainly in guest roles in several popular TV series, such as “JAG” (2001), “Monk” (2005), and “Without a Trace” in 2008. Two years later, she was Margaret Bannen in the action-comedy film “The Bannen Way”, starring Mark Grantt, Vanessa Marcil, and Gabriel Tigerman.
