Childhood and education

Rake became interested in chemistry while attending high school, and always enjoyed going to the laboratory and mixing ingredients to produce something new, which is why he enrolled at Penn State University after matriculation in 1993. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry in 1997, and specialized in synthetic materials.
Rake was friends with a girl whose brother is Brandon DiCamillo, one of the founding members of the CKY Crew, and that’s how the two first met. Brandon asked Rake if he wanted to help him film something. and so the CKY Crew started shooting their videos, and later their movies.
Career as an actor
Rake’s career as an actor was launched in 1998, when he starred together with his friends in the series of videos called “CKY video series” – not long before that, the boys chose ‘CKY’ as their name which stands for ‘Camp Kill Yourself’.
After being noticed by the crew Jackass, Rake was invited to star in their eponymous series which aired from 2001 to 2002, and appeared in three episodes. After that, he appeared in “Criminal Mischief” and “Jackass: The Movie” in 2002, and the year 2003 saw him star in the independent comedy “Haggard: The Movie”, as well as in the reality TV series “Viva La Bam” both of which were created by Jackass.
Rake then guest starred in a single episode of the series “The Dudsons”, and was then cast to appear in the movie “A Halfway House Christmas”. The following years saw him appear in the series “Blastazoid”, the movie “Jackass 2.5”, and the film “Hotdog Casserole”.
In 2009, Rake starred in the movie “Minghags” created by the professional skateboarder Bam Margera, and in 2010 appeared in one of the final Jackass movies “Jackass 3D”. Rake was involved in only a single series after Ryan’s death – “CKY: The Greatest Hits” in 2014.
The CKY Crew
The crew was officially created in 1999 with the release of their debut video “Landspeed presents: CKY”, and its main members were Bam Margera who paid for most of their shootings, Ryan Dunn, Brandon DiCamillo, Chris Raab, Rake and Jess Margera who is Bam’s brother and is a member of his band CKY.
The group stopped making videos and movies in 2009 but they reunited in 2011 to pay tribute to Ryan Dunn, and they also released a special for him. In 2018, Chris Raab started a podcast “Bathroom Break”, and many of the boys from the CKY Crew were featured including Rake and Bam Margera.
Love life and wife Melissa Carr
Rake prefers to keep the details of his love life to himself, but it’s known that he has been married to Melissa Carr for over a decade now. The two have kept the exact date of the wedding a secret, but it is widely believed that the private ceremony was held sometime in 2009, attended only by their closest friends and family.
Not long after the wedding, Melissa gave birth to their first child, and their second followed two years later.
Rake hasn’t talked about any women he might have dated before meeting Melissa, but it’s believed that he was once engaged, but that the two split three months before the wedding – it is also believed that he was in a long-term relationship with his high school sweetheart.
As of August 2020, Rake is married and has two kids.
