Sarah Holcomb is a retired American actress, probably best remembered for her role as Clorette DePasto in the comedy film “National Lampoon’s Animal House” in 1978. Her career ended abruptly after only two years in the entertainment industry, and not much has been heard about her since the 1980s.

Sarah acquired international fame after her acting debut, and continued her career with a few more appearances before it came to an abrupt end.
She was diagnosed with schizophrenia, induced by drug and alcohol abuse, when she was just 20 years old. Her drug abuse started while working on the “National Lampoon” film, and joined by Chris Miller, Kevin Bacon, John Belushi and others, she didn’t know how to stop. She was much younger than the rest of the cast, which caused Sarah to struggle finding a place for herself, and one way to join the company of such stars was through drugs.
However, she went too far, and two years later following her diagnosis, she was effectively incarcerated in a mental institution.
Now years later, Sarah is living a peaceful life, far away from media scrutiny and the melting pot that is Hollywood, and is settled somewhere in the state of Connecticut.

She attended Grayson College, but there’s no information as to whether she completed her degree or not, but unlikely since aged 20 she was in Hollywood.

The moment Sarah entered show business, she left people in awe of her – young, beautiful and already at least metaphorically half-naked. She was the star of the comedy film “National Lampoon’s Animal House”, in which she portrayed Clorette DePasto, the 13-year-old daughter of shady Mayor Carmine DePasto played by Cesare Danova.
Sarah was in fact 18 years old when the scene was shot, and 20 when the film was released.
After this initial success, Sarah continued with prominent roles, starring in the award-winning film “Walk Proud” (1979), and then in another prominent role as Judith Hastings in the romantic comedy film “Happy Birthday, Gemini” (1980). The same year she starred as Maggie O’Hooligan in yet another successful film, “Caddyshack”, alongside Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield and Bill Murray.
Unfortunately, it was after this film that Sarah started having problems with her mental health, and since then hasn’t appeared in a single project.

Now Sarah lives a reclusive life in Connecticut, having apparently changed her name, so there is no information as to whether she married, or has children. Back in the day, she was linked to a couple of her co-stars from films, including Tom Hulce among others, but nothing has been confirmed.
She is still best known to the world for that toga party scene and is often the subject of the media when it is an anniversary of films in which she starred, most recently the 40th anniversary of “Caddyshack”.
