This is Duke my Yorkie on the right. I rescued him 8 yrs ago from a smuggler from North Korea caught at LAX with a crate full of 16 dogs. All Yorkies and Maltese as I remember. Some were dead. Be was arrested on the spot. Think it's not considered a felony (it should be) Duke was one of the lucky ones. I rescued him off Good Day La when he was on with the rest of the survivors. I went to Florida Monday morning for work at HSN. I Got a call from the person who looks after my house when I'm not there telling me that Duke never came back from going outside to the bathroom. I am completely gated and fenced. However this past summer the coyotes were everywhere. I mean everywhere. Brazen and bold and huge. Also living in dens between our yards. One of them got Duke around noon. I'm devastated. this little guy survived enough. At least I know he had 8 beautiful years with me and my family and a dog and cat he adored. I'm in a cab heading home. It's not gonna be easy opening that front door and not seeing his little face. I'm so down. And not just because I'm Ina fucking cab and not an Uber. Fuck. Me.
