His mother started living with the famous film director James Cameron in 1991, and she gave birth to their daughter and Dalton’s half-sister Josephine Archer Cameron in the same year – James and Linda married in 1997, but then divorced in 1999.

Dalton’s father Bruce started dating the American actress Kathleen Quinlan not long after his divorce from Linda, and the two married in a small ceremony on 12 April 1994 – Kathleen gave birth to their son and Dalton’s half-brother Tyler on 17 October 1990.
