American actress Genevieve Knight ‘G’ Hannelius was born in Boston, Massachusetts USA under the Capricorn zodiac sign on 22 December 1998. She’s appeared in 29 TV series and movies, and is perhaps still known best for playing Janie in the 2010 family adventure movie “The Search for Santa Paws”, which Robert Vince wrote and directed, and which starred Kaitlyn Maher, Madison Pettis and Richard Riehle. It follows two children, an elf team and four magic dogs who’ve teamed up to help Santa restore his memory; the film was nominated for a 2011 Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a DVD Film – Young Actress, for Melody B. Choi.
Education and early life
Genevieve was raised alongside her sister Michelle Knight Hannelius in Boston, by their mother Karla and father Eric Hannelius; not a lot is known about Genevieve’s family as she respects their privacy, but it’s known that her father’s Swedish.
She was three when the family moved to Yarmouth, Maine and nine when they relocated to Los Angeles, California, so that she could work on her acting career. Genevieve was 10 when she made her debut TV series appearance, playing Tiffany in the 2009 episode “Jake… Another Little Piece of My Heart” of the musical family comedy “Hannah Montana”, and became popular in the same year, when cast to star as Courtney Patterson in all the 13 episodes of the comedy “Surviving Suburbia”. Created by Kevin Abbott, it also starred Bob Saget and Cynthia Stevenson, and follows the not-so-peaceful life of Steve Patterson, his wife Anne and their two children. Genevieve’s since been ever active in the film industry.
She studied at Sierra Canyon High School, from which she matriculated in May 2017, then honed her acting skills at Young Actor’s Studio; Genevieve’s been living in New York City since January 2022.
Roles in movies
Genevieve made her debut film appearance in the 2009 musical drama “Black and Blue”, and the following year saw her portray the lead character Emily Pearson in the popular romantic sports drama “Den Brother”, directed by Mark L. Taylor, and which also starred Hutch Dano and Maurice Godin; it follows a teenage ice hockey player who’s been forced to help his sister lead her Girl Guide troop.
Some of Genevieve’s following roles were in the 2011 family fantasy “Spooky Buddies”, the 2011 short family drama “Digs: Rosebud Edition” and the 2012 family comedy “Treasure Buddies”.
The year 2020 saw her star as Heather in the horror thriller “Day 13”, directed by Jax Medel, and which also starred Martin Kove and Alex MacNicoll; it follows Colton who believes that the girl next door is being abused by her father, and the film received mostly negative reviews.
Genevieve’s since had only a single movie role, playing one of the lead characters, Leah in the 2022 romantic drama “Along for the Ride”, which Sofia Alvarez wrote and directed, and which also starred Belmont Cameli and Emma Pasarow; it follows Eli and Auden, both insomniacs, as she’s helping him have the best night of his life. The movie won one of its two award nominations.
Genevieve’s just recently finished shooting for the upcoming movie “Sid Is Dead”, set to be released by the end of 2023.
Roles in TV series
In 2009, Genevieve portrayed Brianna Boone in five episodes of the comedy “Rita Rocks”, created by James Berg and Stan Zimmerman, and which starred Nicole Sullivan, Richard Ruccolo and Tisha Campbell. It follows a bored mother who’s founded a garage band together with a postal worker and her neighbor, and the series was nominated for two awards.
In 2009 and 2010, Genevieve played Amy Little in 14 episodes of the short family comedy “Leo Little’s Big Show”, while she then appeared in an episode or two of the romantic family comedy “Sonny with a Chance”, the musical family comedy “I’m in the Band”, and the family comedy “Good Luck Charlie”.
From 2012 through 2015, she starred as Avery Jennings in the popular family comedy “Dog with a Blog”, created by Michael B. Kaplan and Philip Stark, and which also starred Blake Michael and Francesca Capaldi. The series follows a family of four who’ve adopted a dog which can talk, and it won two of its 11 award nominations.
Genevieve’s three most recent TV series roles have been in seven episodes of the 2017 crime comedy “American Vandal”, five episodes of the 2018 animated family comedy “Future-Worm!” (voice role) and eight episodes of the 2019 fantasy mystery “Timeline”.

Other credits
Genevieve sang the song “Habanera” in the 2010 episode “High School Miserable” of the series “Sonny with a Chance”, the song “Friends Do” in the 2014 episode “Love, Loss and a Beanbag Toss” of the series “Dog with a Blog”, and the song “Sun In My Hand” in the 2015 movie “Sunshine”.
She received special thanks for the 2015 news documentary movie “The Mask You Live In”.

Love life and boyfriend
Genevieve’s quite secretive in regards to her love life, but it’s still widely known that she was in a relationship with Jack Chiate, an American non-celebrity who’s today followed by more than 13,000 people on Instagram, mostly thanks to his relationship with Genevieve.
The two began dating in 2015, as many of Genevieve’s fans saw them spending time together, but the pair didn’t confirm the rumors until a year later. It’s widely believed that they split after having been together for two years, but this hasn’t been confirmed.
There are a number of people on the internet who believe that Genevieve’s today in a relationship with a fellow actor, and that they prefer to keep their relationship to themselves, but Genevieve’s yet to address these rumors.
She seems to be unattached as of April 2023, hasn’t married and doesn’t have children.

Interesting facts and hobbies
Genevieve’s passionate about music, and has released several songs (but no albums); her debut song was the 2011 “Staying Up All Night”, while she then released “Sun in My Hand” in 2012, the 2014 “Stay Away”, and the 2016 “Lighthouse” – she hasn’t released any songs since then.
She’s a philanthropist, a supporter of the charity organization A Window Between Worlds, which aims to help those who’ve been subjected to domestic violence.
Genevieve launched her nail-wrap app ‘Make Me Nails’ in November 2014, and created her brand of vegan nail polish ‘G Polish’ in 2019.
She’s followed by close to three million people on Instagram, and has posted nearly 2,400 pictures, with most of these showing Genevieve during her everyday life, whether she’s swimming in the ocean, walking on the beach or playing billiards.
Genevieve’s favorite actress is Scarlett Johansson, and some of her favorite movies include “Ghost in the Shell”, “Lost in Translation”, and “Avengers: Endgame”.
