Early Life and Career Beginnings

Jude grew up in Detroit and was a part of a family that was very active in church. She was present there on most days due to her family, and it was during her time there that she became more exposed to music, as their church was very music-focused, and she began participating regularly there. Eventually, their pastor started a performing arts school near where she lived. She joined the school, singing in a choir, learning how to dance, and getting drama lessons.

Wanting to make it big in Hollywood, she moved to Los Angeles after matriculating from high school. She began auditioning for acting roles, but it was difficult.

She then tried singing, and working as a backup dancer, leading her to be noticed by LA Reid’s Epic Records, and she signed a deal with the company, working as a backup dancer and songwriter. In 2009, she made her film debut in the short “History of Made up Things” in which she portrayed the character, Whitney.

Continued Acting Work

In 2010 Demorest made her television debut, appearing as a guest in the television series “Jonas” which aired on the Disney Channel.
