Early life and education
Lil Barnacle was raised in Park Ridge by his father who is a taxi driver, and his mother who is working at a local supermarket.
He did not have many friends while attending elementary school, being rather shy and introverted, thus finding comfort in rap music, listening to rappers such as Eminem and Snoop Dogg, and becoming interested in rapping. He wrote his first songs at the age of 12, but these haven’t been published as Lil Barnacle believes them not to be good enough. In 2017 when he enrolled at high school, he began performing and uploading his songs online, while he also began socializing, and started playing sports such as football and volleyball.
Barnacle is currently attending his 11th year of high school – apparently he isn’t planning on enrolling at college after matriculation, but on pursuing his dream of becoming famous worldwide.
Career as a rapper
Barnacle launched his career in 2017 when he uploaded his first song onto his SoundCloud account, but gained recognition only after the release of his “Mosh Pit” single; the song which he sings with P.O.O. and Wasabi rappers, has been listened to over 3.54 million times, while it has been given a ‘heart’ by over 50,000 people.
His second hit entitled “Porn” was released in the same year, a collaboration between him and Lil Limabean, which has attracted over 4.35 million listeners. Most of Barnacle’s songs have titles which are ‘not safe for work’ (NSFW), which is something that makes him stand out among other rappers.

He is interested in becoming an actor – his favorite actors and actresses are Tom Cruise, Ken Watanabe and Natalie Portman, while some of his favorite movies include “The Last Samurai”, the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, and “Leon The Professional”. He likes to travel in his spare time and has been all around the US to meet with fellow rappers, while his dream is to visit Austria and Norway in Europe.

Barnacle has talked about how being a rapper in the US isn’t easy or safe, especially if one is living in dangerous suburbs full of crime.
He has talked about seeing the gangs in the streets, torturing young boys who don’t want to join them, apparently to discourage them from joining rival gangs. Barnacle had his encounter with a gang in his neighborhood, but has stated that he has managed to stay away from those involved in criminal activities. Although he knows several rappers who are members of gangs, he will try to stay focused on his studies (maybe attending college later) and on his career as a rapper.
