Who is Steve Howey?

American actor Steven Michael Robert ‘Steve’ Howey was born in San Antonio, Texas USA, on 12 July 1977, meaning that Cancer’s his zodiac sign. He’s had roles in close to 50 TV series and movies, but is perhaps still known best for playing Daniel in the 2009 romantic comedy movie “Bride Wars”, which Gary Winick directed, and which starred Candice Bergen, Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. It follows two best friends who are marrying on the same day, and the film won one of its nine award nominations.

Education and early life

Steve and his siblings Tammy and Bret were raised in San Antonio by their father Bill Howey who’s a screenwriter and director, and mother Carla Novinger who’s a housewife; not a lot else has been disclosed about his family, as they prefer to stay away from media.

Steve mostly became interested in acting thanks to his father, and attended Bill’s acting workshop. He studied at Crescenta Valley High School, at which he was mostly into playing basketball, and upon matriculating in 1995, he enrolled at Northeastern Junior College on a basketball scholarship.

Steve quit college in 1997, wanting to pursue a career in the film industry.

Roles in movies

Steve’s debut film role was playing Jim in the 1998 drama “Class”, and he could then have been seen appearing in the 2005 romantic action “Supercross”, the 2006 action adventure mystery “DOA: Dead or Alive”, and the 2007 comedy “The Beast”.

He gained recognition in 2009, when cast to play Agnew in the comedy “Still Waiting…”, which Jeff Balis directed, and which starred Rob Benedict, John Michael Higgins and Adam Carolla; it follows Dennis who’s hoping that he’ll be promoted at work. In the same year, Steve starred as Stan Helsing in the eponymous horror comedy, written and directed by Bo Zenga, and which also starred Diora Baird and Kenan Thompson; it’s a parody about various other horror films, and won a Gold Medal for Excellence at the 2010 Park City Film Music Festival.

Steve played Terry in the 2011 comedy “Losing Control”, and was then cast to portray Marcus in the 2011 romantic comedy “Something Borrowed” and Joel in the 2011 romantic comedy “Conception”. In 2014, he played Bo Soames in the hit romantic fantasy “In Your Eyes”, directed by Brin Hill, and which starred Michael Stahl-David, Zoe Kazan and Mark Feuerstein. It follows two people from different corners of the USA, who are telepathically connected and can see through each other’s eyes.

Steve’s also known for playing Felix in the 2019 action crime comedy “Stuber”, directed by Michael Dowse, and which starred Dave Bautista, Kumail Nanjiani and Mira Sorvino. It follows a detective and his Uber driver who’ve embarked on an adventure together, and the film was nominated for five awards.

Steve’s since appeared in only a single movie: the 2022 action fantasy comedy “Day Shift”.

Roles in TV series

Steve’s debut TV series role was playing Mark Kerwin in the 1999 episode “Silicone Valley of the Dolls” of the crime action “Pacific Blue”, and the following couple of years saw him appear in an episode or two of the romantic comedy “Get Real”, the romantic drama “ER”, and the comedy “The Drew Carey Show”.

From 2001 through 2007, he starred as Van Montgomery in the popular comedy “Reba”, which Allison M. Gibson created, and which also starred JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Reba McEntire. It follows the life of a single mother of three, and the series won three of its 19 award nominations.

In 2009, Steve starred as Ben Piller in another popular comedy “Ctrl”, which follows the life of an office worker who’s discovered that his computer has magic abilities; he could then have been seen appearing in an episode or two of the fantasy horror comedy “Stan Helsing”, the crime mystery comedy “Psych”, and the romantic comedy “Love Bites”.

From 2011 through 2021, Steve played Kevin Ball in all the 134 episodes of the comedy “Shameless”, which starred Emmy Rossum, William H. Macy and Ethan Cutkosky, and was created by Paul Abbott and John Wells. It follows several members of an unforgiving Chicago family, and the series won 20 of its 89 award nominations.

Steve’s since appeared in only a single TV series, playing Harry Tasker in 12 episodes of the 2023 action adventure comedy “True Lies”.

Other credits

Steve produced the 1998 drama movie “Class”, while he’s the producer of the upcoming short film “Hours”.

Some of his most recent talk-show appearances have been in “The Talk”, “Entertainment Tonight” and “eTalk Daily”.

Love life and marriage

Steve prefers to keep the details of his love life to himself, but it’s known that he was married to popular American actress and former model Aahoo Jahansouzshahi, who’s known better by her professional name Sarah Shahi; she’s appeared in nearly 70 TV series and movies, and is probably known best for playing Adrianna Tomaz in the 2022 action adventure fantasy film “Black Adam”.

Steve and Sarah became engaged in June 2007, and exchanged vows in Las Vegas, Nevada on 7 February 2009; Sarah gave birth to their son in July 2009, and their twin son and daughter followed in March 2015.

The two filed for divorce together in May 2020, and it was finalized in January 2021.

Steve’s yet to speak about other women whom he’s been with, he seems to be unattached as of April 2023, was once married to Sarah Shahi, and they have three children together.

Interesting facts and hobbies

Steve enjoys being active on the internet, and is today followed by close to two million people on Instagram, while he’s uploaded more than 660 pictures and videos onto the social media network, with most of these showing him during his everyday life.

He’s a fashionista, and enjoys wearing suits – it’s believed that Steve has a collection of more than 200, but this is yet to be confirmed by the famous actor.

He works out at the gym on a daily basis, thus his muscular body; some of his Instagram pictures and videos show him exercising at the gym.

He’s a huge fan of motorcycles, and often features his own in his Instagram pictures.

Steve’s favorite actor is Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, while some of his favorite films include “G. I. Joe: Retaliation”, “Central Intelligence”, and “Fighting with My Family”.

Steve’s age is 45. He has brown eyes and hair, is 6ft 4ins (1.92m) tall and weighs around 210lbs (95kgs).
