Daisy was raised as an only child in Hammersmith, by her father Sir Tim Waterstone who is the owner of a bookshop chain, and her mother Rosie Alison who is a movie director and producer, known for her works on documentaries “The South Bank Show”, “Grand Designs” and “Omnibus”. Rosie is also a author, releasing her novel “The Very Thought Of You” in 2009.

Motivated by her mother, Daisy became interested in acting at a very early age, and was 13 when she joined the National Youth Theatre, while she also attended the Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts for a year.

Daisy studied at Francis Holland School, Graham Terrace and upon matriculating in 2012, decided not to enroll at a college but to focus on her acting career.

In 2013 Daisy played Lucy and Nibs in the play “Peter Pan Goes Wrong” performed at The Pleasance Theatre, and the following year saw her play Susanna Walcott in Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible”, performed at The Old Vic. She made her debut film appearance in the same year, when she portrayed Clare Leighton in the biographical historical drama “Testament of Youth”, which won five awards and was nominated for five others, while she also played Susannah Walcott in the movie of “The Crucible”.
