Born on the 5th September 1972, the 47-year-old blogger currently hides his identity in the online community behind an avatar, using the photo of the deceased Croatian general Slobodan Praljak drinking poison at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, Netherlands.

Blogging

It all began in August 2003 when, signing as Allah, he launched a blog named Allah Is In the House, on which he expressed his opinion about a variety of topics from the Allah’s point of view, but imitating the language style commonly used by terrorist organizations.

It quickly gained popularity among the supporters of conservatism, as well as among anti-jihadists. In May 2004, the blog slightly changed its focus as he, keeping its satiric nature and uploading political satire-related written and Photoshopped content, completely abandoned its religious manner, and turned off its whole ‘Allah voice’ aspect. In September 2004, Allahpundit was one of the those most responsible for exposing the “Killian documents controversy” – a set of six documents questioning George W. Bush’s service within the Texas Air National Guard during the early 1970s.

To greater prominence he came soon after, when Mary Mapes from the CBS’ “60 Minutes” called him on ‘working anonymously to destroy the Bush-Guard story’. This whole fuss caused Allahpundit’s blog to earn his place among the Top Blogs Cited in Political Postings covering the 2004 US presidential election topic.

However, without any announcements or explanations, in October 2004 the anonymous blogger stopped uploading new posts, and eventually shut down the blog completely.

Although no longer in existence, the blog’s textual content can still be accessed via the Internet Archive digital library.

In April 2006, after being ‘approached’ by Michelle Malkin, Allahpundit wrote several articles for the freshly launched conservative political blog named Hot Air. After its initial success with the conservative audience and with the mission to ‘provide content and analysis you can’t get anywhere else on a daily basis’, Hot Air quickly earned its influential status.

Hotair website

Alongside Ed Morrissey, who is socially conservative yet gay-friendly, Allahpundit became the blog’s main and most active contributor, content creator as well as its editor.

Being a libertarian and an atheist, Allahpundit often faces severe criticism even from his own readership, not only for his strong manifestation of atheism, but for his harsh disagreement with hard-right political activists, specifically when it comes to social issues.

For his unique style, which is not easy to characterize being mainly controversial and unenthusiastic, with an emphasis on self-deprecating as well as deadpan humor, Allahpundit earned a moniker “Eeyorepundit” as a resemblance to a pessimistic, depressed and gloomy character from the Winnie-the-Pooh franchise.

Earning a reputation as a reliable source, Allahpundit’s posts and quotes can often be heard cited by Jon Stewart on the Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show”. Due to his endeavors, since its launching in 2006, Hot Air is constantly ranked among the top 10 politically conservative websites.

Although in February 2010 Hot Air was bought by the Salem Media Group, Inc., led by Allahpundit and Ed Morrissey it managed to keep its initial core, holding a high level of independency from its socially conservative superior company.

Besides the abovementioned, Allahpundit is also active on the popular social media network Twitter, on which he has been followed by more than 105,000 people.

Judging by his some of his tweets, he is especially keen on the 45th President of the USA, Donald Trump.

Net Worth
