Who is Timothy Omundson?

American actor Timothy Michael Omundson was born in St. Joseph, Missouri USA, on 29 July 1969, making Leo his zodiac sign. He’s appeared in close to 100 TV series and movies, but is probably still known best for playing IMF Agent in the 2006 action adventure thriller movie “Mission: Impossible III”, which starred Michelle Monaghan and Tom Cruise, and was written and directed by J. J. Abrams. It follows IMF agent Ethan Hunt who’s trying to deal with a sadistic and dangerous arms dealer – the film won seven of its 21 award nominations.

Timothy’s today quite active in the film industry, and is currently shooting for the upcoming series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians”.

Education and early life

Timothy was raised in St. Joseph as an only child, by his mother who was a teacher and father who was a railroad worker; it’s rumored that Timothy’s parents eventually divorced, and that he has two paternal and two maternal half-siblings, but this is yet to be confirmed by the actor.

The family of three moved to Bellevue, Washington State when Timothy was 11, and he enrolled at Seattle Children’s Theatre in the following year; he was passionate about acting during his years at Interlake High School, and interned at a number of theatres. Timothy was into several other activities during his teenage years, and was twice the Washington State Debate Champion in Dramatic Interpretation.

Timothy matriculated in 1987, and then enrolled at the University of Southern California, from which he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre in 1991; for his achievements in acting, he won both a James and Nony Dolittle Award and a Jack Nicholson Award.

Roles in TV series

Timothy’s debut TV series role was playing Ricky Ross in the 1992 episode “The Cheever Letters” of the comedy “Seinfeld”, and the following years saw him appear in an episode of the comedy “Married… with Children”, the crime mystery “Diagnosis Murder” and the comedy “The George Carlin Show”.

In 1995, he starred as Dr. Patrick Yates in the drama “Medicine Ball”, which also starred Vincent Ventresca and Donal Logue, and was created by John J. Sakmar and Kerry Lenhart; it follows a group of people employed at a hospital in Seattle. The remainder of the ‘90s saw Timothy appear in an episode of the comedy “First Time Out”, the crime fantasy “Strange Luck” and the mystery adventure “Dark Skies”.

From 2000 through 2005, he starred as Sean Potter in the popular drama “Judging Amy”, which also starred Tyne Daly and Amy Brenneman, and was created by Bill D’Elia and Barbara Hall. It follows the lives of three generations of women, and the series won 13 of its 60 award nominations. The remainder of the decade saw him appear in single episodes of the romantic comedy “The O. C.”, the crime action “CSI: Miami”, and the crime mystery “Criminal Minds”.

From 2006 through 2014, Timothy portrayed one of the lead characters Carlton Lassiter in all the 120 episodes of the crime mystery comedy “Psych”, which also starred Dule Hill and James Roday Rodriguez, and was created by Steve Franks. It follows a novice sleuth who’s convinced the police that he has psychic powers, and the series won five of its 36 award nominations. The following years saw him appear in an episode of the fantasy horror “Supernatural”, the comedy “Hot in Cleveland” and the short musical comedy “The Hillywood Show”.

In 2015 and 2016, Timothy played the lead character King Richard in the fantasy adventure comedy “Galavant”, which also starred Vinnie Jones and Joshua Sasse, and was created by Dan Fogelman. It follows a knight on a quest for love, and the series was nominated for four awards.

Some of Timothy’s most recent roles in TV series have been in three episodes of the 2019 comedy “American Housewife”, the 2021 episode “Laughter and Hope and a Sock in the Eye” of the drama “New Amsterdam”, and seven episodes of the 2022 romantic comedy “This Is Us”.

Allison gave birth to their first daughter Lily in 2002, and their second daughter followed in 2004; Timothy and his wife prefer to keep their daughters away from the media’s attention, and their exact birthdates thus haven’t been disclosed.
