Ron Ely is a veteran American actor best known for his role as Tarzan in the 1966 NBC series, Tarzan. He has appeared in numerous films and television series throughout his acting career. He was married to Valerie Lundeen until her murder by their own son, Cameron on 15 October 2019.

Valerie Lundeen was the wife of Tarzan star Ron Ely. She is the former beauty pageant titleholder, having crowned as Miss Florida USA. She had won the 1981 Miss Florida USA representing Miami and competed at Miss USA in the same year. She professionally worked as a flight attendant. She had also won the beauty pageant for flight attendants, Miss Airlines International in 1980. She attended Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, where she was named “Miss Green Feather” for her charitable efforts while at the University.

Lundeen was the second wife of Ely. Ron and Valerie got married in 1984. Ely had previously married and divorced from Cathy, his high school sweetheart. Ely and Valerie shared two daughters, Kirsten, and Kaitland, and a son, Cameron. Ron Ely retired from acting and writing business to focus on his family.

3. Tarzan Star Ron Ely’s Wife Death
Valerie Lundeen, veteran actor Ron Ely’s wife was found stabbed to death at their home in the Hope Ranch along Mariposa Drive area of Santa Barbara at 8.15 pm on 15 October 2019. Police were called on their residence for a “family disturbance”, where they found Lundeen stabbed to death.
Their 30-year old son Cameron was considered the main suspect. The deputies warned and requested neighbors to stay indoor while searching for the suspect, Cameron. The sheriff’s deputies later found Cameron hiding in his parents’ property where he was shot to death during the shooting around 9.40 pm.
The Santa Barbara County Sherrif’s Office public information officer Lt. Erik Raney told that no officers were hurt in the shooting. The Tarzan actor Ron Ely was also unharmed but was taken to the nearby hospital for a medical checkup.
