The following year, Jacques Rougeau trained him, also he wrestled for Rougeau’s promotion for four years. He finally met Terry Taylor, his primary trainer, and continues training with him till this date.
Steen got his first match on May 7, 2000, in L’Assomption, Quebec, and never looked back. He was already fighting under various Canadian wrestling promotions during that period. On August 12, 2014, Kevin signed with WWE: NXT Champion(2014-2015), where he started to shine as an upcoming wrestling star. He changed his surname to Owens, which made his name Kevin Owens, in honor of his son, who himself is named after the legend Owen Hart.
