Personal life, husband Seth Meyers

Alexi met her future husband, Seth Meyers, at Chris Kattan’s wedding ceremony in 2008, when he married Sunshine Deia Tutt. Chris is a popular American comic, writer and actor; he is also Seth’s former colleague, as they worked together at “Saturday Night Live” show. The ceremony was decorated by the designers who also create the decorations for “Saturday Night Live”, and among them was Ariel Ashe, Alexi’s sister.

Seth later shared in one of the episodes of this show that he instantly felt something for Alexi: ‘I had a sense that she was the closest I’d ever met to someone who I could see myself with. Pretty much right away’, he reflected on their first meeting. The couple started dating (and Chris Kattan, whose wedding was the event where Alexi and Seth met, divorced from his wife in only a year), and in July 2013 Seth proposed, and the couple officially announced about their engagement on their social media profiles. The couple married on 1 September 2013 in a ceremony held at Martha’s Vineyard.

Did Alexi have to delay the wedding? What happened?

After the wedding ceremony, Alexi and Seth revealed that they were about to delay the event due to Alexi’s health issues – she got a severe food poisoning right after the rehearsal dinner two days before the wedding.

Alexi was delivered to the emergency room, and was advised to delay the wedding ceremony, as the nurses were not sure if she was able to recover that soon. However, Alexi was determined not to let the guests down, got some good rest and recovered the next day. She also shared that Adam W. Bennett, the team physician of Chicago Bears, helped her with good advice, so her recovery was that quick. Bennett was also among the guests of the ceremony.

Children, Ashe Olsen and Axel Strahl

Alexi gave birth to her first son, Ashe Olsen Meyers, on 27 March 2016. Seth and Alexi didn’t hesitate to share the happy news and the photos of the newborn with their followers on social media.

No one could expect that the appearance of Ashe’s younger brother, Alexi and Seth’s second son, would be so dramatic. According to Seth and Alexi, on 8 April 2018, they were relaxing at their apartments, when Alexi suddenly felt strong contractions – they called for help and got to the lobby, but Axel was born even before the emergency personnel could arrive. The neighbors, who heard the noise in the lobby, helped Alexi, supporting her and bringing towels. ‘Axel was born in the lobby of our apartment building. Within ten minutes we were surrounded by NYPD, NYFD and EMTs all of whom made us feel safe and protected’, Seth recalls that day on his Instagram account. Seth later shared that Axel’s middle name, Strahl, honors his great grandparents, who both survived the Holocaust and met in an Austrian hospitals after being liberated.
