Alireza Safar Beiranvand is an Iranian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper

Alireza Safar Beiranvand is an Iranian professional football player. He currently plays for the Persian Gulf Pro League club Persepolis and the Iran national team. His playing position is a goalkeeper. 

Alireza Beiranvand started playing football for the youth team of Vahdat in 2007. In 2008, he joined the youth team of Naft Tehran and began his career at the club. He then played for Persepolis, Royal Antwerp, and Boavista (loan). On 31 May 2022, he returned to Persepolis on a new three-year contract on a free transfer.

On the international level, Alireza Beiranvand has represented Iran at various age levels. He has represented Iran at U20, U23, and the senior level. He made his senior international team debut for Iran on 4 January 2015. He has represented Iran at the 2015 and 2019 AFC Asian Cups, and at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He has been named Iranian Footballer of the Year in 2019. Since making his debut, he has obtained 50 caps for Iran.

Alireza Beiranvand started playing football for the youth team of Vahdat in 2007. 

Naft Tehran

  • In 2008, Alireza Beiranvand joined the youth team of Naft Tehran and began his career at the club. 
  • After progressing through the youth ranks at Naft Tehran, Alireza Beiranvand made his senior team debut for the club on 25 October 2011 in the Hazfi Cup against Damash. In his first year as the first-choice goalkeeper, he led the team to a 3rd place League finish and a spot in the AFC Champions League for the first time in the club’s history. On 23 March 2014, he extended his contract with the club until June 2019. 
  • Alireza Beiranvand left Naft Tehran at the end of the 2015-16 season after his contract expired. At Naft Tehran, he made 84 appearances for the club, making 33 clean sheets in all the competitions. Additionally, he won the Persian Gulf Pro League Best Goalkeeper of the Year in the 2014-15 season.

Persepolis

  • On 16 May 2016, Alireza Beiranvand signed a two-year contract with league runners-up Persepolis. 
  • Alireza Beiranvand went on to play four seasons for Persepolis where he made 136 appearances for the club, making 79 clean sheets in all the competitions.
  • With Persepolis, Alireza Beiranvand won four Persian Gulf Pro League titles (in 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20), three Iranian Super Cup titles (in 2017, 2018, 20190, and one Hazfi Cup title (in 2018-19). Additionally, he also won the Golden Gloves for three Years in a row and four times as a whole.

Royal Antwerp 

  • On 28 July 2020, Alireza Beiranvand joined Jupiler Pro League side Royal Antwerp on a three-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He made his debut for the club on 10 December 2020 in a 2-0 loss against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League. He made his league debut for the club on 13 December 2020 in a 2-0 loss against Club Brugge. In his first season, he made 12 appearances for the club, making 4 clean sheets in all the competitions.

Boavista (loan)

  • On 10 July 2021, Alireza Beiranvand joined Primeira Liga side Boavista on a one-year loan with a purchase option for €1 million. He made his debut for the club on 23 September 2021 in a 2-1 win against Pacos Ferreira. He made his league debut for the club on 27 September 2021 in a 1-1 draw against Estoril Praia. During his loan spell at Boavista, he made 9 appearances for the club, making 2 clean sheets in all the competitions. 

Return to Persepolis 

  • On 31 May 2022, Alireza Beiranvand returned to Persepolis on a new three-year contract on a free transfer.
