Ayase Ueda began his youth career with Kashima Antlers Norte Junior and then moved on to play at Kashima Gakuen High School. After the success of his first two years at university, in February 2019, he joined his boyhood club Kashima Antlers, and made his senior career debut in July 2019 by playing for the club for about four seasons. On the international level, Ayase Ueda has represented Japan at various age levels. He has represented Japan at U20, U21, U23, and the senior level. In May 2019, he was called up to Japan’s squad for the 2019 Copa America in Brazil. He made his senior international team debut for Japan on 18 June 2018 in the group stage match of the 2019 Copa America. He then went on to make two more appearances in the competition before Japan was knocked out at the group stage with Ueda missing some big chances throughout. Despite his performances at Copa America, he was once again called up to the Japan squad, this time for the 2019 EAFF E-1 Football Championship.
