Talisca, who had arrived in Bahia in 2009, graduated from the youth program there. He made his professional debut on 7 July 2013 in a match against Corinthians and netted his first goal in the subsequent game versus São Paulo.

Benfica

  • Talisca joined Portuguese champions Benfica on 5th July 2014 for a €4.75 million fee, making him the most expensive Bahia player. He scored his first goal for Benfica in his debut match in the Taça de Honra semi-final against Estoril on 18 July 2014.
  • On 12 September, he scored a hat-trick against Vitória de Setúbal. He became the top scorer of the Primeira Liga after scoring two consecutive goals against Estoril in a 3–2 away win on 27 September 2014.   • Talisca joined Beşiktaş, a Turkish club, on 24 August 2016 on a one-plus-one-year loan agreement for a fee of €2 million for the initial season. In the first season, he signed a contract worth €1.5 million plus bonuses. Upon his return to the Estádio da Luz on 13 September, he scored an additional-time free kick, earning a 1–1 draw in a Champions League group match.

Guangzhou Evergrande

  • Talisca was sent on a six-month loan to Chinese Super League team Guangzhou Evergrande on 8 June 2018, with the move costing €5.8 million. He made his debut on 18 July, starting the match and scoring a hat-trick, including a direct free kick, to lead his team to a 4–0 victory over Guizhou Hengfeng in the league.
  • He also scored two goals in his second match on 29 July, as Guangzhou defeated Chongqing Dangdai Lifan 5–0 at home. On 26 October 2018, it was announced by Benfica that Talisca had been permanently transferred to the Chinese club for a transfer fee of €19.2 million.

Al Nassr

  • Talisca made a switch to Saudi Professional League team Al Nassr on 17 May 2021 for a reported transfer fee of $9.5 million. He demonstrated his prowess by scoring a hat-trick for his new team on 16 December 2022 in a 4-1 away league triumph against Al-Raed.
