Chris Martinez is the younger sibling out of the house music Duo, The Martinez Brothers(TMB) from The Bronx, New York. They’ve been hailed as the crown princes of DC10 in Ibiza, Spain, since 2014 by MixMag. The Duo was enlisted as DJ’s of the year 2014 by MixMag, which is considered the top-most accolade any House Music artist can ever receive.

The 27-year-old is mostly busy with his brother, grinding the dance venues all over the world with their House Music with old-school roots. But recently, Chris is followed by Hollywood tabloids for being in a relationship with 24-year-old model British Demi Rose Mawby.

Dating and Breakup with Demi Rose Mawby

Chris was spotted kissing Demi Rose on 15 December 2017 at Madrid airport. Since then, they were seen together on various venues on TMB gigs all over Europe.

Martinez posted several affectionate posts on Instagram with 537,000 followers expressing love, and so did Demi. Although the Brit is no stranger to flaunting her figure on her Instagram, she called Chris “My King” in an April 2018 post.

The couple was enjoying their romantic endeavor in low key away from the limelight. Unfortunately, during the first week of October 2019, the representative of Demi Rose stated, “Unfortunately, Demi & her boyfriend Chris Martinez have parted ways. They have ended as friends and continue to support each other throughout their careers,” adding, “Demi is single and very happy working on her career in the USA,” which confirmed Chris had a breakup with Demi after almost two years in a relationship.

Right after the announcement, Demi took to Instagram to share a busty snap, of which she captioned: ‘Thinking of you.’ Though it’s not known if the message was directed at Chris, in any case, the sizzling snap would undoubtedly show him what he’s been missing, with the star smoldering into the camera while wearing a frilly, low-cut pink top.

The Instagram sensation has gained the attention of 9.4 million followers since she rose to fame after being romantically linked to Kylie Jenner‘s ex Tyga and DJ Tom Zanetti in the past.

Nowadays, we don’t see Chris posting anything related to Demi, and neither does Demi. It seems Chris is busy with his brother Steve, touring different venues giving sensational performances for The Martinez Brothers, and Demi seems to be back in her game of modeling and posing as an Instagram sensation for her rising 11.2 million followers.

The Martinez Brothers

Chris Martinez and his elder brother Steve Martinez jr. have been dominating the European EDM since they released their first number My Rendition under the guidance of Dennis Ferrer in 2007.

Steve Martinez sr., Father of the Duo, was a big name in the 80’s disco clubs and a patron of the legendary Paradise Garage in King Street, New York. As a result of which they got introduced to Garage/House Dance Music at a very young age.

Despite their father not being able to continue music after the birth of Steve Martinez jr., the boys’ father laid all the foundation required for a successful career in dance music for both of his children. Getting them involved in a church band where they would collaborate with older musicians, buying them first set of disco equipment, encouraging them into pursuing a career in dance music and also always remaining a supportive father ever since.

The Duo had exposure to New York’s dance music scene while they were growing up. They got the privilege because of their father’s PR in New York. The Martinez Brothers were continuously working on their music production, absorbing the roots of ’80s style garage music.

The true disco genre, however, was limited, after hearing a set, DJ Dennis Ferrer started mentoring the brothers. He signed the magnificent Duo to his label Objektivity and later on helped them grow through his contacts, booking them gigs at several notable venues in New York.

In 2011, The Martinez Bros got invited to Ibiza, Spain, the mecca for DJ’s in the entire world. Though it did not go as planned to perform in club Ushuaia with former mentor Dennis Ferrer. Still, fortunately, a friend and booker, Elliot Shaw, secured them residency in club DC-10, where they hold regular residencies ever since.

Another highlight includes one of 2013′s big underground Ibiza hits, Santos Resiak‘s A Better Light (The Martinez Brothers Remix) on One Records. Their ubiquitously accessible remix of Green Velvet‘s Bigger Than Prince (Circus) was named the most-played dance track at ADE 2013, further showing their range as producers and delivering a dark, raw groove with cut-up vocal accents.

In late 2013 they released the two-part hip-hop mixtape Warhol/Basquiat, which was named SPIN Magazine’s Dance Track of the Week by Philip Sherburne. He backed it up by saying:

At their best, their beats have a quizzical, psychedelic feel, stretching loops of Donna Summer and George Duke into long strips of taffy and turning up the humidity until they dissolve on their own.

2013 was marked as the beginning of their homespun event series Mad Beats & Crazy Styles, offering the brothers a space to explore their New York dance music roots. They also launched their record label, Cuttin’ Headz, which will be home to their musical experiments.

The Martinez Brothers and Seth Troxler‘s, Tuskegee premiered the same year. Combining the black and Latino musical experience in the US in the early 90s as inspiration, TMB and Troxler set to put up a series of vinyl-only releases as well as a clothing line.

In 2014 they worked directly with high-end fashion designer Riccardo Tisci to create the soundtrack for Givenchy‘s menswear and women’s wear fall/winter 2014 and spring 2015 collections. In 2014 the picture of the Duo was placed on the front cover for the December edition of the print magazine Mixmag. They were named DJs of the year by UK dance music publication Mixmag, which included the line of appreciation, which stated as follows: “no other DJ or DJ duo encapsulates house music in 2014 like the crown princes of DC10.”

They teamed up with DJ Gregory / Point G with What’s the Point? , the first release on his new label, Ever Lasting Love in 2014. Followingly, They were invited by Legendary Nile Rodgers to contribute on his album; It’s About Time in the same year, and their free EP Masters At Dutch was released in May of 2015.

Beyond their club residencies and blistering performance at nightclubs, the Duo maintains an active international touring schedule. They have performed at Electric Daisy Carnival in California to a crowd of approximately 60,000 attendees. Likewise, they’ve performed at the Detroit Electronic Music Festival for DEMF 2010 and DEMF 2014. They played at the IndepenDANCE Pool Party in Miami & Electric Zoo Festival in Randall’s Island in New York City in 2011.

In 2012 they performed as the headlining act at Rock in Rio Lisboa V at the Eletrónica Heineken. In 2014, they performed at several festivals such as Escapade Music Festival in Canada as well as Lovebox and Creamfields in England. They also performed at The BPM Festival held in Mexico in 2015 and at Tomorrowland in Belgium during the summer.

These guys have been all over Europe, the Americas, Australia, and also had Asia Tour making their trip to Japan recently. While on the road during their tours, they have created a behind-the-scenes Coachella photo diary for Rolling Stone and Nylon Guys.

Production-wise, they’ve laid down some studio tracks with Nile Rodgers and have collaborated with Spanish Harlem-born hip hop star Bodega Bamz on the mixtape. Despite their fame, the Duo is positive and down-to-earth guys. When they get asked about their achievements, they always humbly reply, “We are so blessed!”.

What is the Net Worth of The Martinez Brothers and Chris’ alone?

After being listed as number one among the best DJs in the world in 2014, The Martinez Brothers have been stacking up their earnings producing music, and selling out the venues all over the world they perform to date.

As of December 2019, TMB is estimated to have a net worth of over $10 million. While Chris solely has a net worth of $6 million and his brother Steve a little above $6 million.

Maybe we don’t see The Martinez Brothers enlisted in the list of highest earners, but surely they are a dark horse in the race of Disc Jockeys, who will get listed among the elites in the coming years.
