Hugo Hernan Maradona also known as El Turco, was an Argentine football player and coach. He played as a midfielder for clubs in South America, Europe, Japan, and Canada. He has played for Argentinos Juniors, Ascoli, Rayo Vallecano, Rapid Vienna, Deportivo Italia, Progreso, PJM Futures, Avispa Fukuoka, Consadole Sapporo, and Toronto Italia. 

On the international level, he has represented Argentina at various age levels. He has represented Argentina at U16. He was a part of the Argentina squad that competed at the U16 South American and World Championships in China.

Hugo Hernan Maradona was born on 9 May 1969. His birthplace is Lanus, Argentina. He was born to his father Diego Maradona “Chitoro” (1927-2015), who worked at a chemicals factory, was of Guarani (Indigenous) and Galician (Spanish) descent, and his mother Dalma Salvadora Franco, “Dona Tota” (1930-2011), was of Italian descent. He was the youngest sibling of brothers Diego Maradona and Raul Maradona and five sisters: Maria Rosa Maradona, Rita Maradona, Ana Maria Maradona, Elsa Maradona, and Claudia Maradona.   • In 1985, he joined Argentinos Juniors and began his career at the club. He played for the club until 1987 where he made 19 appearances and scored once in all the competitions.

  • During the 1997-1998 season, he played in J1 League for Consadole Sapporo where he made 56 appearances for the club, scoring 15 goals in all the competitions.
  • In 1999, he played for Toronto Italia and got retirement from football.
