• Gianluca Scamacca started playing football at an early age. He was only 10 years old when he joined the youth academy of Lazio. After spending three years at the club’s academy, he joined the youth academy of Roma in 2012. He progressed through the ranks of the club but transferred to PSV Eindhoven before playing for Roma’s senior team. 
• He joined Eindhoven in January 2015. After playing for the club’s youth side, he made his professional debut in Eerste Divisie as a Jong PSV player against VVV-Venlo in January 2016. 
• He signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Italian club, Sassuolo in January 2017. He made his Serie A debut against Napoli in October 2017. The club then loaned him to the Serie B club, Cremonese in January 2018. He scored his first professional goal against Palermo on 14 April 2018. 
• He then spent loan spells at PEC Zwolle, Ascoli, and Genoa before returning to Sassuolo in 2021. He scored 13 goals for Ascoli and 12 goals for Genoa during his loan spell. • Following an outstanding season, he caught the interest of the English club, West Ham United. The club offered him a  £30.5m deal in July 2022, to which he agreed. He will play the new season for the English club.

• Gianluca Scamacca played for Italy football teams at various levels. He made his debut for Italy for the U17 side in 2014. He later represented Italy’s national side on U18, U19, U20, and U21 sides. He was part of the Italy U19 team that finished runner-up at the 2018 UEFA European U19 Championship. He also helped Italy U20 to finish in fourth place at the FIFA U20 World Cup.
