Holly Ann Ramsay was born on 1 January 2000, in England to British parents, Gordon James Ramsey and Cayetana Elizabeth Hutcheson. Her father is a popular chef, restaurateur, and TV personality while her mother is a cookbook author and a former school teacher. She has four siblings, namely 22-year-old Megan Jane, 20-year-old fraternal twin Jack Scott, 18‑year-old Matilda Elizabeth, and 10-month-old Oscar James. Her mother had a miscarriage with a five-month-old baby boy they named Rocky a few years ago, before the youngest was born.
The family lives in London but would shuttle back and forth to L.A. and Cornwall whenever there was a need. Megan graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the Oxford Brookes University in June of 2018. Jack is pursuing his college degree at Exeter University and will enlist in the Marines after he graduates. Holly would sometimes appear as a guest on her father’s numerous television shows, but she is a regular on the cooking-reality-family show, presented by her younger sister Matilda Ramsay entitled, “Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch.” This is a CBBC-commissioned TV show, that targeted young viewers, and features the Ramsay family during their yearly Los Angeles summer vacation. Each episode would show Matilda cooking, while the rest of the family does other summer activities. The pilot episode aired in 2014, and the most current episode was aired in July of 2019. There is no news yet of a Season 6 renewal.
Holly also had a part-time job at the popular clothes shop Brandy Melville. Her millionaire father has been saying in interviews that while he loves his children, they would not access his fortune, and children are expected to work hard to be successful in life.
Currently, Holly is being managed by Established, a London-based model agency as a social media influencer and model. Gordon James Ramsey was born on 8 November 1966, in Johnstone, Scotland to parents Gordon Sr. and Helen. He was raised in Stratford-upon-Avon, England in a volatile home with his three siblings, two sisters and a younger brother, who was a juvenile delinquent for heroin possession. His father, who worked various odd jobs, was abusive and alcoholic.
His mother was a nurse who would often wear sunglasses even during winter to hide the bruises on her face. They would often transfer homes as his father lived beyond his means, and they were repeatedly thrown out of their rented homes. Even when he grew bigger than his father, he never attempted to fight back. His parents never divorced, but his mother just decided one day not to return to his father after seeking refuge in a woman’s shelter for about nine months. His father died in 1997; apparently Gordon regretted not reconciling with him before that happened.
Growing up, he dreamt of becoming a professional footballer (soccer), and had a promising path during his younger years. However, a knee injury prematurely ended his football aspirations and he decided to go back to college to pursue a Hotel Management course instead.
He then discovered his talent for cooking, and under the watchful eyes of renowned international chefs and restaurateurs such as Albert Roux, Guy Savoy, Joel Robuchon and Marco Pierre White, he was able to further enhance his talent and develop his signature style of cooking.
After becoming the head chef of a London restaurant for three years, and helped it to gain two Michelin stars, he was ready to venture out on his own. In 1998, he opened Restaurant Gordon Ramsey and it did not take him long for it to achieve three Michelin stars, in all of London achieved by only three other chefs – his restaurant holds the longest record of maintaining its Michelin quality.
His other restaurants were also highly evaluated, such as Petrus in Knightsbridge with one Michelin star, the Le Pressoir d’Argent in Bordeaux with two Michelin stars, and Trianon in Versailles with one Michelin star.
Gordon expanded his business and has opened several restaurants in major cities around the world. Outside of UK, he has four in Europe, six in the US, three in the Middle East, and three in Southeast Asia. They mostly carry his name except for those in the Middle East and Asia, which are named Bread Street Kitchen and London House.
