Jacob was raised in Los Angeles alongside his younger brother Blake and his older sister Makenna, by their father who is an accountant and their mother who is working as a nurse at a local hospital.

Jacob began acting at a very early age, as his parents arranged for him to attend acting classes at a local theatre when he was five years old. He made his debut appearance in 2007 when he voiced the Boy in the fantasy film “Mitch Albom’s For One More Day”, starring Michael Imperioli and Ellen Burstyn and which is about a suicidal man who gets to spend a day with his deceased mother – the film won one award and was nominated for 11 others, including a Primetime Emmy, while it served as a launch pad for Jacob’s career.
