Who is Lyndsy Fonseca?
American actress Lyndsy Marie Fonseca was born in Oakland, California USA, on 7 January 1987, making Capricorn her zodiac sign. She’s had roles in nearly 50 movies and TV series, but is perhaps still known best for playing Katie Deauxma in the 2010 action crime comedy movie “Kick-Ass”, which starred Nicolas Cage and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and was written and directed by Matthew Vaughn. It follows teenager Dave Lizewski who’s decided to become a superhero, even though he has no superpowers, and the series won 19 of its 81 award nominations.
Lyndsy reprised her role in the 2013 sequel “Kick-Ass 2”.
Education and early life
Lyndsy was raised in Oakland by her father James Victor Fonseca and mother Lima Lynn (nee Bergmann); her parents’ professions remain undisclosed, but it’s known that they eventually divorced, and that Lima married her second husband Reid Dworkin, an American lawyer, and gave birth to Lyndsy’s half-sister Hannah Leigh Dworkin.
Lyndsy moved with her mother to San Francisco, California at the age of 10, and spent two years studying at Barbizon Modeling and Acting School prior to moving to Los Angeles, California aged 12.
She was a dancer prior to launching her acting career aged 14, playing Colleen Carlton in 116 episodes (2001-2005) of the long-running soap opera “The Young and the Restless”, which has aired close to 13,000 episodes since 1973. She also appeared in an episode of three other series while shooting for “The Young and the Restless”: the family comedy “Malcolm in the Middle”, the comedy “Boston Public” and the crime mystery “NYPD Blue”.
Lyndsy matriculated from a local high school in 2005 and then chose acting over pursuing a college degree.
Roles in movies
Lyndsy’s debut film role was playing Sandy Barber in the 2005 family drama “I Do, They Don’t”, and some of her following roles were in 2005, in the dramas “Cyber Seduction: His Secret Life” and “Ordinary Miracles”, and the 2006 thriller “Dark Mind”.
In 2007, she portrayed Dawn in the popular comedy “Remember the Daze”, written and directed by Jess Bond, and which starred Katrina Begin, Charles Chen and Melonie Diaz. It follows a group of senior high school students during their final day at school, and the movie was nominated for two awards. Some of Lyndsy’s film roles in the remainder of the 2000s were in the 2008 short drama “Austin Golden Hour”, the 2009 comedy “The Fish Tank”, and the 2010 science fiction comedy “Hot Tub Machine”.
In 2011, she played Cheyanne in the comedy “Five”, directed by Jennifer Aniston and Patty Jenkins, and which starred Patricia Clarkson and Rosario Dawson. The movie comprises five short films, all of which are about breast cancer, and it won two of its 29 award nominations. Lyndsy could then have been seen appearing in the 2014 short comedy “Michael Bay’s ‘Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots’ Trailer”, and in 2015 the comedy “Down Dog” and the romantic comedy “The Escort”.
In 2016, she starred as Danielle in the adventure comedy “Moments of Clarity”, directed by Stev Elam, and which also starred Kristin Wallace and Mackenzie Astin. It follows a pastor’s daughter and an agoraphobic’s daughter who’ve become best friends, and the film won six of its 16 award nominations.
Lyndsy’s also known for playing the lead character Helen in the 2017 mystery science fiction thriller “Curvature”, directed by Diego Hallivis, and which also starred Linda Hamilton and Glenn Morshower. It follows an engineer who’s travelled back in time to stop her younger self from committing a murder, and the film won three of its six award nominations.
Some of Lyndsy’s most recent film roles have been in the 2021 fantasy comedy “Next Stop, Christmas” the 2022 drama “North to Home”, and the 2023 biographical musical “Spinning Gold”.
Roles in TV series
Lyndsy played Kristy in the 2006 episode “Not-So-Great Great Great Grandpa” of the adventure family comedy “Phil of the Future”, and from 2006 through 2009, she played Donna in the drama “Big Love”, created by Mark V. Olsen and Will Scheffer, and which starred Bill Paxton, Jeanne Tripplehorn and Chloe Sevigny. The series follows a wealthy Utah polygamist who has three wives, it aired from 2006 through 2011, and won seven of its 52 award nominations.
From 2010 through 2013, Lyndsy starred as Alex in 73 episodes of the crime action “Nikita”, which won two of its 27 award nominations, and from 2005 through 2014 portrayed Daughter in 65 episodes of the critically acclaimed romantic comedy “How I Met Your Mother”. The year 2015 heard her voice Skater in the episode “LGBSteve” of the animated comedy “American Dad!”, and in 2016, Lyndsy starred as Allison in all the 12 episodes of the comedy “RePlay”, created by Shawn Dempewolff-Barrett, and which also starred Tyler James Williams and Cyrina Fiallo. It follows aspiring DJ Allison Lee who’s throwing a warehouse party for her 25th birthday.
Lyndsy’s three most recent TV series roles have been in the 2016 episode “Wear It” of the sports drama “Pitch”, 12 episodes of the 2021 crime comedy “Turner & Hooch” and six episodes of the action thriller “9-1-1: Lone Star” since 2020.

She was also nominated for two Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series in 2008 and 2009, both for “Desperate Housewives”, three Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV Actress: Action from 2011 through 2013 for “Nikita”, and two Maverick Movie Awards in 2015, both for “Moments of Clarity”.
Love life and marriages
Lyndsy’s married twice. Her first husband was American actor, producer and director Matt Smiley; the two married on 16 April 2009, and their divorce was finalized on 13 January 2013.
Since 2 October 2016, she’s been married to American actor and director Noah Bean, who’s appeared in close to 50 movies and TV series, and is perhaps known best for playing the supporting character Aaron Marker in the adventure mystery series “12 Monkeys”, which aired from 2015 through 2018; Lyndsy and Noah were together for four years prior to exchanging vows.
She gave birth to their daughter Greta Lilia Bean on 2 February 2018, and their second daughter Evelyn Estella Bean followed in June 2022.
Lyndsy’s yet to mention other men whom she’s perhaps dated, she’s married to her second husband Noah Bean as of May 2023, and they have two daughters together.
