James Joseph McClean professionally known as James McClean is an Irish professional football player who plays for EFL Championship club Stoke City and the Republic of Ireland national team as a winger. He started playing football for the youth team of Trojans and Institute. He began his career at Institute in 2007 and played there until 2008. On 26 July 2011, he was called up to the Northern Ireland senior squad but decided to wait for selection by the Republic of Ireland and therefore pulled out of the Northern Ireland squad.
