He moved into the starting lineup as a junior during the 2009–10 campaign to average 14.7 points and 6.4 rebounds per game, and he earned All-Big East Honorable Mention honors. But the Houston born superstar as a senior in 2010–11 averaged 15.7 points per game and earned an All-Big East Honorable Mention for the second straight year.

The American international at his professional level saw limited opportunities while playing for Chicago bull after he was drafted in 2011. However, the current Miami Heat forward scored his then career-high of 28 points against the Toronto Raptors in 2013 and two days later, he recorded his first career 20/10 game with 22 points and a career-high 14 rebounds against the New York Knicks.

However, despite recording his new scoring height against Denver Nuggets in December 2014, with 32 points, he recorded a loss where he was voted the eastern conference player of the month in the same year. However, the 31-year-old forward signed a new bumper deal with the Bulls in the following season as he began to solidify his presence in the NBA.
