Jocelyn was raised as a single child in Canada by her father who is a lawyer, and her mother who is teaching at a local high school.

Jocelyn fell in love with ballet at a very early age – her mother found her dancing in front of the TV, and so enrolled her at the National Ballet School of Canada which Jocelyn attended until she turned 17.
