The actor was born on 28 August 1977 in Santa Rosa, California, the United States of America, under the zodiac sign, Virgo. He is the son of an African-American mother Janet Smollett and a Jewish father Joel Smollett. As mentioned above, he has five siblings: three brothers, Jake, Jacqui, and Jussie, and two sisters, Jurnee and Jazz. Regarding his education, he attended Paramus Catholic High School in Paramus, New Jersey.
The actor has a nationality of America and belongs to mixed ethnicity. He then made his career in the entertainment industry as an actor at the age of 14 in 1991 on the sitcom Roseanne.
