Early life and education

Kenya was raised in Ohio as an only child by her father who was an actor, and her mother who was an accountant. She grew up wanting to become a model and an actress, as that was something her peers at elementary school wanted as well.

Upon enrolling at a local high school, she started playing soccer for the school’s team while being a member of the school’s drama club, and appearing in plays performed there. Kenya travelled a lot with her father while he was shooting for his movies around the US, which is how she fell in love with travelling. Upon matriculation in 1992, she enrolled at a college and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1996.

Kenya is currently running her own company – Premier Sports and Corporate Travel – which helps organize tours and transport for sport teams both professional and college, while the company also works with music and film stars.

Kenya is also interested in the TV industry, and the year 2008 saw her as the executive producer of the comedy TV special “Gary Owen: Breakin’ Out” while in 2010 she appeared in the documentary comedy TV special “DeRay Davis: Power”, directed by Leslie Small, and which follows DeRay as he covers a variety of topics. He is an actor and a stand-up comedian, perhaps still best known for his performance in the crime comedy film “Little Man” in 2006, which was both directed and written by Keenen Ivory Wayans, and which starred Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, and Kerry Washington. It is about a criminal who pretends to be a baby on a house doorstep, just to hide from the cops. The movie won six awards, and was nominated for 15 others.

Gary was raised in Cincinnati alongside his six siblings by his parents, who worked hard to put food on the table and were occasionally unsuccessful – the family of nine lived in a trailer park in Oxford. Gary attended a local high school where he was physically active, as he played both football and soccer, then upon matriculation, he joined the US Navy where he stayed for six years, becoming a Master-at-Arms.
