Jena was raised in Union Beach by her father who is working at a post office, and her mother who is a lawyer, while she has a younger sister who is interested in becoming an actress. Jena grew up being interested in modelling, while she was also very active, playing a variety of sports while attending a local high school. She was also very good at math and was interested in history, so upon matriculation Jena moved to Durham City, to attend North Carolina Central University from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2015.
