Interest in Cosplay

Swimsuit Succubus became interested in wearing costumes of pop culture characters at a young age but didn’t gain any attention for it until 2015, when she decided to share her love of cosplay online through social media. Cosplay or costume play is the art of people wearing accessories or costumes to represent a specific character, often taken from sources such as video games, comic books, television shows, anime, manga, cartoons, and the like.

The art began in the 1990s in Japan, and steadily spread around the world. While it was initially popular in Asia, it has since become celebrated around the world, and conventions have become the most popular venue for cosplayers to gather, and the community has grown to the point that competitions are often held. Cosplayers who could portray their character accurately, or create a unique rendition of a character would often gain a huge following, especially if the person in the costume is also very attractive. These cosplayers would often become internet celebrities, with followers waiting upon news of their next projects.

Online Career

Succubus’ following grew significantly over the years, as she gained hundreds of thousands of subscribers on Instagram. Unlike other cosplayers, people liked her more for her unique personality. She leaned towards more gothic and darker interests. She loved playing horror games, reading dark stories, and posted photos with a more serious expression. Despite that, she still loved anime, playing video games, and had interests similar to many popular cosplayers.

As Instagram’s restrictions grew stricter, she created another website to cater to her fans which wanted more sensual content.

While she doesn’t post any nude photos, she does a lot of lewd photoshoots which often show off her assets and her figure. Her work is similar to that of glamour models with whom she often works, who share the same interests. As her name denotes, she often posted photos of herself wearing succubus outfits or bikinis. These photos were done to promote bigger photo sets which can be sold to her fans at various values of up to $25. She often worked with another cosplayer Bunny Ayumi.

Transition to Streaming

While she was earning a bit of income through her appearance in cosplay conventions and her online merchandise, she began experimenting with other platforms.

This eventually led her to streaming which has become one of the more lucrative online professions in recent years, especially for video gamers. She created an account on Twitch, and her already established popularity made it an easy transition for her. Twitch was created to cater to the video gaming community, as it allowed people to broadcast their games live to the public, with them interacting with an audience as they showed off their skills and experience online.

The platform has led to the popularity of many online personalities, often those who excelled at a specific game or genre such as first-person shooters (FPS).

Eventually, the website also began incorporating other types of streams – one of the more popular livestreams is the In-Real-Life (IRL) streams which often focus on a streamer chatting and interacting with his/her viewers. This has become a very popular option for online personalities such as Instagram models and cosplayers. It was also a very lucrative avenue for artists and performers – singers, musicians, and the like could interact with their fans and perform them, often gaining money in the process through ads or donations.
