Education background

She matriculated from Tucker County High School in Hambleton, West Virginia in 1995. She graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication and Political Science at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Career

First steps

Molly entered the Miss West Virginia beauty pageant four times, the first time in 1995 as Miss Tucker County, the second in 1997 as Miss Greater Bluefield Area in which she placed as one of the top ten semi-finalists, the third time in 1999 as Miss Canaan Valley, and the last time was in 2000 as Miss Rhododendron in which she won the Miss Preliminary Talent Award, and placed third in Miss West Virginia.

Her career as a journalist started when she came to work at the CBS-affiliated TV station, WDTV VHF digital channel 5, in Bridgeport, WV as a photographer and reporter from 1999 to 2000.

Further success

She also worked as a reporter and anchor for three years (December 2002-December 2005) at the WFXT Boston 25 Virtual Channel, which is a Fox‑affiliated TV station licensed to Boston, Massachusetts. It was during her stint there that she covered news of the sentencing of the al-Quaeda member, Richard Reid, who was dubbed as the “Shoe Bomber” when he attempted but failed to detonate the bomb in his shoes while onboard the ‘plane of a Paris to Miami flight in December 2001.

She also covered The Station nightclub fire in 2003, in which 230 were injured and 100 people were killed including the rock band Great White guitarist, Ty Longley, when the pyrotechnics that were set off caused fire to ignite and spread. The fire, intense heat, black smoke, and the crush of people all rushing to escape the place resulted in the high number of casualties; only 132 people escaped without injury, but suffered psychological trauma.

Line joined Fox News Channel in January 2006, and worked as a news correspondent. She covered Neil Entwistle’s arrest and extradition for allegedly murdering his wife, Rachel, and 9‑month-old baby, Lilian, in their rented home in January 2006.

He was later convicted and continues to serve his sentence of life imprisonment at the medium-security prison, Old Colony Correctional Center, in Bridgeport without the possibility of parole.

She also reported on the Boston Mooninite Panic in 2007. A report was made to the police of a suspicious object believed to be an explosive device at Interstate 93 above Sullivan Station on 31 January 2007, and the bomb squad from the Boston Police Department was called in to identify and detonate the device. There were several emergency vehicles at the scene. Officials reported that it was not a bomb and called it a hoax device that had some characteristics similar to that of an improvised explosive device.

Another one was spotted and reported at a different location. The 1 x 1.5 device was actually an LED sign featuring a Mooninite character giving the finger; Mooninite was a character from the adult animated series from “Aqua Teen Hunger Force.” Around 40 of these devices were made and 20 were hung two weeks earlier while the rest were installed just two days before it was first reported. It was part of the promotional marketing campaign for their upcoming film.

Molly tried her hand at acting, when was cast as one of the Divine Dating Angels in the dark comedy film, “My Last Five Girlfriends,” which premiered in 2009 at the Tribeca Film Festival, and distributed by Paramount Pictures International.

It was based on Alain de Botton’s best-selling novel, “Essays on Love,” which sold two million copies and counting. She did not participate in any other movies, and continued on with her work at Fox News.

On 14 October 2012, Molly did a live coverage of what became the deadliest mass shooting at a primary/secondary school in the history of US. The 20-year-old Adam Lanza killed his 52-year-old mother, Nancy, at their home, then drove his mother’s car to Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, and killed a total of 26 people, of which 20 were six- and seven-year-old children and the remainder school staff members.

The first 911 call was made around 9:35 a.m. He killed himself five minutes before Newton Police entered the school premises at 9:45 a.m.

Molly met Matt while they were still at Virginia Tech and her classmate, Paul, who happened to be Matt’s roommate introduced them one night at a restaurant, but it wasn’t until years later when they both landed a job in New England that they started dating.
