Early life and education

Hallie was raised in Yardley by her father David Jackson who was a journalist, and her mother Heidi who was working at a local theatre. Hallie doesn’t have any siblings but she grew up around her friends from the neighborhood who all went to Pennsbury High School.

Hallie was dreaming about becoming a model and an actress while growing up, but this changed when she started helping her friend who was a member of the school’s radio program team. Upon matriculation, Hallie enrolled at Johns Hopkins University where she was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa society, and from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science in 2006. She was also physically active while at University, as she played soccer and volleyball.

Career as a journalist

After graduation Hallie moved to Salisbury, Maryland where she worked at WBOC-TV for several months, before moving to Dover in Delaware to work as a reporter.

A year later, she moved to Hartford while she spent the year 2008 working in New Haven, Connecticut. She moved several more times before being invited to work for the Hearst Corporation in Washington, D.C. and after staying there for two years, she started working for the NBC News network as their journalist and field reporter. She gained recognition after covering Ted Cruz who decided to run for US president, and in August 2016 Hallie was offered to anchor the “MSNBC Live” program which aired at 1 P.M.

Hallie became somewhat popular in the US after she was chosen to serve as Chief White House correspondent at the beginning of 2017, and she has been holding the same position for over three years now, while she can also be seen hosting several MSNBC and NBC shows as she is also serving as a fill-in anchor.
