Ray Dalio is an American billionaire hedge fund manager and philanthropist who is well known for serving as the co-chief investment officer of the world’s largest hedge fund, “Bridgewater Associates” for over 35 years now since 1985. Dalio founded the billion worth company in 1975 and within 10 years, the company was infused with a US$5 million investment from the World Bank’s fund. 

 In his life-tenure of 70 years, he saw himself becoming the 79th wealthiest person in the world in 2020 with his billion-worth fortune. Previously, he has worked at the New York Stock Exchange, Dominick & Dominick LLC, and Shearson Hayden Stone as well.

He is also an author who wrote a book titled “Principles: Life & Work” that was featured on the New York Times’ best-seller list in 2017. Ray Dalio is married to his only wife, Barbara Dalio. Barbara is an American descendant of sculptor Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney with whom Ray got married in 1976. Since then the couple has been living for over 40 years together and even shares 4 sons; Devon, Paul, Matthew, and Mark. 

His first son, Devon-born in 1978 was killed in a car accident at age of 42, while his second son, Paul Dalio is a film director third son Matthew is the founder and chairman of the China Care Foundation, and the youngest one, Mark is a wildlife filmmaker.
