Early life and education

Sydel was raised in Charlotte alongside her two brothers by their father Dell Curry who was a professional basketball player, and their mother Sonya Curry who was a competitive volleyball player.

Sydel attended a local high school where she became interested in playing volleyball, and it didn’t take her long to become the captain of the school’s volleyball team. She set several records, and was selected The North Carolina Independent Schools Athletic Association’s (NCISAA) All-State three times, while she was also selected for the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association’s (CISAA) All-Conference four times.

Upon matriculation in 2012, Sydel enrolled at Elon University on a volleyball scholarship, and played for the school’s volleyball team during all three years, however, she hurt her knee during her freshman year, and had to spend the season on the bench.

She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2016.

Career as a social media star

Sydel is an Instagram star, as she’s gathered over 640,000 followers onto her account, and has uploaded over 800 pictures. She is mostly uploading pictures taken during her everyday activities, including during her travels, while she’s making food for her dogs, and while exercising. He gained recognition while playing basketball at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, and during his senior year he was chosen to play for the Second-Team Baltimore Sun All-Metro. Upon matriculation, he enrolled at Drexel University on a basketball scholarship, and started playing for their team Drexel Dragons.

After an incredible first year, Sydel was named Rookie of the Year by Colonial Athletic Association, and in 2015 he moved to the University of Louisville after he was invited to play for their Louisville Cardinals, and became their top player. Upon obtaining his Master’s degree in 2016, Damion wasn’t drafted into the NBA, but signed with the Miami Heat before he switched to the Boston Celtics on 26 September 2016. Just two months later, he began playing for the Maine Red Claws before joining the Santa Cruz Warriors on 24 August 2017. Damion debuted for the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA on 13 March 2018, then on 14 July 2019 he signed with the Golden State Warriors, but shortly after that returned to the Santa Cruz Warriors.

In 2019, Damion began playing for the Golden State Warriors once again, and after an amazing season, he signed a multi-year contract with them on 15 January 2020.
