Early life and family
Milena Govich was born on 29 October 1976, in Norman, Oklahoma USA, to Dr Bruce Micheal Govich and Dr Marilyn Green Govich.
Both her parents are professors in music, and were the inspiration behind Milena’s interest in music.
Her father, who died in 1993, taught at the University of Oklahoma, and her mother is still teaching vocals at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. Her father was of Serbian descent, and her mother a mix of Scottish and English bloodlines. Milena’s aunt, Melica Govich, is also an actress, who has appeared on television and in Broadway plays.

Despite suffering the loss of her father, Milena was still able to achieve high enough grades to be the valedictorian for her class of 1994.
