Cesaro is the ring name of the Swiss professional wrestler, Claudio Castagnoli, who is signed with the American wrestling promotion, All Elite Wrestling (AEW); he was previously signed to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).

Claudio Castagnoli was born under the Capricorn zodiac sign on 27 December 1980 in Lucerne, Switzerland, which makes him 43 years old as of 2023. He developed an interest in wrestling after discovering the sport on a German TV station when he was young. Cesaro hasn’t revealed the names of his parents and siblings, and his educational background is also unknown.

Cesaro is a well-traveled person and can speak four languages, being fluent in Italian, English, French and German.
During his early wrestling days, the Swiss Superman was a member of the tag team Los Ice Creams, and competed in Chikara Pro Wrestling under the moniker ‘A Very Mysterious Ice Cream.’

Career Beginnings: 2000-2010
Castagnoli trained under the Swiss professional wrestler SigMasta Rappo in his homeland, and made his wrestling debut as Double C at the German wrestling promotion, Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) on 24 December 2000. He later trained under the English wrestler, David Taylor, while performing in England.
In July 2003, Claudio made his debut at Chikara’s Tag World Grand Prix together with his fellow Swiss wrestler, Ares, but the duo was eliminated after losing to SuperFriends. While still appearing in Chikara, Claudio joined Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW) in late 2004, teamed up with the American professional wrestler Chris Hero, and won two CZW World Tag Team Championships before he exited from CZW in 2006.
Castagnoli made his first appearance in Ring of Honor (ROH) in July 2006, teaming up again with Chris Hero and winning an ROH World Tag Team Championship in the year that followed; he also scooped two ROH Year-End Awards in 2007 and 2008. Castagnoli has participated in numerous other promotions, including Juggalo Championship Wrestling (JCW), where he scooped two Tag Team Championships with Chris Hero. He also participated in International Pro Wrestling: U. K., where he won an IPW: UK Tag Team Championships with Ares.

WWE and Other Promotions: 2011-Present
Claudio signed a contract with the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) under the name Antonio Cesaro in September 2011. In April 2012, he made his TV debut in an episode of the WWE TV program “SmackDown”, then throughout 2015, he teamed up with Tyson Kidd to compete in WWE Tag Team Championships. In July 2016, he was drafted to Raw, and his first match was with Sheamus on 21 August 2016. During his tenure in WWE, Cesaro came close to defeating the legendary American wrestlers John Cena and Roman Reigns, and has won various matches including WWE US States Championships, WWE Raw Tag Team Championships (one time with Tyson Kidd and four times with Sheamus), and WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships (with Sheamus and Shinsuke Nakamura). Cesaro left WWE after his contract expired in February 2022, later joined All Elite Wrestling, and eventually made a comeback at the Ring of Honor.
Claudio was ranked at position 13 out of 500 single professional wrestlers in Pro Wrestling Illustrated (PWI) 500 in 2014.

Personal Life
Cesaro is in a long-term romantic relationship with his former manager, the American former wrestler and wrestling trainer, Sara Ann Amato, better known as Sara Del Rey. Sara was involved with the women’s wrestling promotions, Chikara, which is based in Philadelphia, and Shimmer, which is based in Chicago. She also competed in All-Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor (ROH). In 2022, the Scottish professional wrestler, Drew McIntyre, announced that Cesaro had recently become a father – he made the announcement a few months after the rumors of Sara’s pregnancy began spreading. However, Cesaro hasn’t addressed the matter, and as of 2023, it’s unclear whether he has any children.
It is rumored that Castagnoli was previously dating the Lithuanian bodybuilder, fitness model and former wrestler Živilė Raudonienė aka Aksana; they parted ways in 2014.
Controversies
An unknown person, who seemed unhappy about the way WWE was handling a talent like the Swiss Superman, hacked the wrestler’s Twitter handle in February 2015. The hacker projected his frustration toward the executive chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon, in a series of tweets. One of the hacker’s controversial tweets read ‘I hope that old man (McMahon) gets cancer, I would of been one of the best for sure in the WWE. But that old washed up has no idea.’ The tweets were deleted after Cesaro recovered his account.
Previously, the personal Twitter and Instagram accounts of Cesaro’s fellow WWE star, Seth Rollins, were also hacked and his nude photos, together with those of the model Zahra Schreiber, were leaked.

Claudio is very muscular. He stands at an impressive height of 6ft 5ins (1.96m) and weighs approximately 230lbs (104kgs). He is White, has a set of brown eyes, and is bald.
