She began taking dance lessons when she was eight, and learned classical dance forms. She was trained in Bharatanatyam for four years and eight years in Kathak. She has a fashion design degree from the Pearl Academy.

In Neha’s teenage years she began modeling, and was signed to Elite Model Management in April 2003.

In an interview with Vogue India, Neha shared how she met her husband at a party in 2008. She liked his fashion sense, and he felt it was love at first sight, and wanted to hook up that night. He was not put off with Neha being taller than him, and he still wanted to get to know her better. They had a drink together, and the rest is history.
After three years of dating, Neha married Kunal on 22 December 2011 in a fun, colorful ceremony with tons of food. She wore a Tarun Tahiliani gown.
Their pre-wedding events, mehendi and haldi and their ceremony were strictly Punjabi, and the wedding lasted for six days and had a thousand guests. According to tradition, Kunal had to arrive at the wedding on a white horse.
