When it was finished, later in 2003 she was offered a part in the movie, “Xuxa Abracadabra,”. It was a fantasy-adventure movie with a touch of Brazilian folklore for children, and was internationally released by Warner Bros. Speculations arose that the reason for the break-up that time was that Neymar wanted to get married, and Bruna to live with him in Europe, but she wasn’t ready yet. They were together during New Year’s Eve of 2018, and was supportive of him during the World Cup that year, by posting photos to her social media account, but by October of the same year, they had reportedly parted ways yet again.

Who is Neymar?

Neymar da Silva Santos Jr. was born on 5 February 1992, in Mogi das Cruzes, São Paulo, Brazil to parents Nadine da Silva and Neymar Santos Sr. He is simply known as Neymar Jr. or Neymar. His father was a former professional footballer, and trained his son while growing up, as Neymar started playing in street games and indoor games such as Futsal.

Neymar attended Las Heras for his primary education, but never pursued further studies as he was playing soccer at a very young age, and showed potential to qualify for bigger leagues. True enough, at age 11 he was accepted in the Santos FC junior league, and improved so that by age 14 he was already receiving offers from popular ball clubs such as Real Madrid C.F. However, Santos FC was able to convince him to stay by giving him a huge bonus.

During his years with Santos FC, he was able to lead his team to win the Copa do Brazil and then the Copa Libertadores championship. He won three scoring titles too, and was named Player of the Year four times in a row. His popularity skyrocketed, and he became arguably the hottest soccer player in Brazil.

With fame comes negative criticism too, such as being beaten by an underdog Mexican team during the 2012 Summer Olympics, and for having a child out of wedlock. However, he was able to lead his team to win the gold medal at the 2016 Olympics, and his career soared even higher. In 2019, when he agreed to be transferred to Paris Saint-Germain F.C, he broke the world football transfer record at that time with a contract worth $263 million.

ESPN placed him in the top 10 most famous athletes in the world in 2016. “TIME” included him in the 100 most influential people in the world list in 2017, and in 2019 “Forbes” claimed that he was the third highest paid athlete in the world next to Ronaldo and Messi.

He currently plays as a forward for Paris Saint-Germain F.C, where he was already awarded Player of the Year, and led his team in winning Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue championship titles.

Other relationships

Bruna was in a relationship a year before Neymar came into her life. Her boyfriend back then was Brazilian rapper Diego Raphael Villanueva, but they broke up in 2011. She was also romantically linked with other men in between the on and off relationship with Neymar – she dated Marlon Teixeria, a Brazilian model, but it did not last long and they broke up in 2015. The same thing happened in 2016 when she dated the Brazilian actor Mauricio Destri, and then the Brazilian singer-songwriter Tiago Iorc. Apparently, she kept going back to Neymar every time there was a chance to rekindle the relationship with him.
