Nancy’s parents were Jewish; her mother died in 1991 due to breast cancer.

Myron used to bring Nancy boy toys such as trucks – many of her fans believe this was because Myron actually wanted a son rather than a daughter. She was physically active while attending a public high school, and was playing soccer for the school’s team. Upon matriculation in 1977, she enrolled at Arizona State University graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in transportation in 1981, which was at the time considered a strange major for a girl.

Nancy’s career

Upon graduation, Nancy started working full-time at her father’s company, steadily learning everything there is to know about the trucking business, and in 1983 when her father believed she was ready, Nancy took over the New England Motor Freight company.

Myron and his brother were still working at the company, however, after the federal government conducted several investigations, it was revealed that the brothers and their company was working with the Mafia, and they were accused of racketeering and of having a business relationship with Tony Provenzano, a Mafia boss who was later convicted of murder and racketeering.
