He grew up with his brother, Steven Macchino on the ranch their parents owned. In 1979 he matriculated from Half Hollow Hills West High School. In 2018, he returned as Daniel in the reboot of “Karate Kid,” entitled “Cobra Kai,” which was produced by YouTube; season two premiered on 24 April 2019 and comprised of 10 episodes.

It follows Daniel LaRusso and his rival, Johnny Lawrence after the Cobra Kai karate dojo reopens. Alongside Ralph, William Zabka stars in the show as Johnny, whom he originally played in the film.

According to sources, Ralph earns $1 million per season. Overbrook Productions bought the series rights from Weintraub Entertainment Group, which is owned by Jerry Weintraub. Will Smith produced the series. Ralph’s other famous roles include Eugene Martone in “Crossroads,” Jeremy Andretti in “Eight Is Enough”, and Archie Rodriguez in “Ugly Betty.”
