Early life and education
Karli was raised by her father Steve who is a comedian, and her mother Marcia Harvey to whom Steve was married to from 1980 to 1994 and was his first wife – Steve has been married three times. They raised Karli together, and after divorcing when she was 12 years old they had joint custody, and with her twin sister Brandi, Karli got to spend a week with her mother and then a week with her father.
Karli and Brandi have both become TV personalities. Karli attended a local high school in Los Angeles, California where she first tried acting, becoming a member of the school’s drama club, however, she soon realised that she wasn’t fit for the film industry, and found a passion for hairstyling. She began working shortly after matriculation, and didn’t enroll at college.

He made his debut stand-up comedy performance on 8 October 1985, at the Hilarities Comedy Club, but still was apparently homeless for the next three years, sleeping in his car.
He continued doing stand-up comedy, and was invited to star in the “Me and the Boys” ABC show in 1994 which led to him having his own “The Steve Harvey Show”, which aired from 1996 to 2002 making him famous especially in the African-American community. In 2000, he was invited to host “The Steve Harvey Morning Show”, which has been airing on weekdays ever since.
He launched his career as a writer in 2009, with the release of his book “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man”.
In September 2010 he started hosting the “Family Feud”, a family competition show, while also hosting “Celebrity Family Feud”. He retired from doing stand-up comedy on 2 August 2012 when he performed for the last time at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and is today only focused on hosting his TV shows.
He launched his Steve Harvey Global (SHG) company in 2017, uniting all of his jobs into one, while the Sand and Soul Festival was also launched by him in the same year.
