Candice Loren Crawford was born on 16 December 1986, in Lubbock, Texas USA, so she holds American nationality and her zodiac sign is Sagittarius. Candice is the youngest daughter of Dana Crawford, a teacher, and Chris Crawford, a dermatologist, natives of Dallas, Texas. Candice has an older brother, Chace Crawford, who is a popular actor, known for appearing in such TV series as “Gossip Girl” and “Blood & Oil”. When Candice turned three years old, her parents moved to Bloomington, Minnesota, as her father had to work there as a medical student for four years.

Modelling career

Even though Candice started modelling in her teen years, it wasn’t the goal of her life, to participate in or to win any beauty pageants. She simply enjoyed being in front of an audience, and tried to take as much from that experience as she could. She signed up for the Miss Missouri 2007 competition, but was the runner-up.

She later shared that it was only due to her parents’ unconditional love and support that she entered the competition the next year again – she was very busy with studying, working as a personal trainer at the recreational center at the University of Missouri, and also having her sorority responsibilities, yet she was brave enough to sign up for Miss Missouri for the second time. Her father told her: ‘I think this is your year’, and Candice felt much more confident with her decision. Candice won the pageant, being crowned as Miss Missouri 2008, and also received a special achievement recognition for her successful performance in swimsuit category. So Candice got the chance to participate in the Miss USA competition of the same year.

However, Candice admitted in her interview to Columbia Tribune that her modelling career would soon be over: ‘I think this would be a good ending point for me. After this is over, I would like to focus again on my career’, Candice said, meaning her broadcasting career.

Since her first college year, Candice started reporting for the local TV station KOMU, owned by the University of Missouri. She worked as an anchor and sports reporter, spending two summers working with the Dallas Cowboys football club, which compete in the NFL.
