With social media and paparazzi running around, it’s easier to get a sneak peek into the lives of celebrities. One thing is clear from the interactions we get with these people; most live lavishly. However, not every celebrity is the same, and some prefer the standard way of life, where they don’t have to spend insane amounts of money. If I had to guess which celebrity lives an ordinary life, I’d probably go with Tyson Fury – there are many reasons why. Let’s see if there are other celebrities that are more like the rest of us.
1. Ed Sheeran
Who would’ve thought, right? After all, Ed Sheeran is one of the most famous musicians on the globe. He has released hit after hit and many of us just can’t get enough of it. He must be getting insane amounts of money, right? Absolutely! However, Ed Sheeran still gives himself an allowance. He prefers not to be wasteful and would rather use his student account than spend recklessly. Ed says that he gives himself $1000 worth of allowances each month which he mostly spends on taxis. We’ve heard stories of him crashing at people’s houses for weeks. Surely Ed has to still be living in college. Anyway, he’s one of the few celebrities that you’re more likely to bump into.
2. Kristen Bell
For many years, Kristen Bell has graced television screens and has also been involved in top box office movies. She did a voice-over for the movie Frozen. It’s reported that she is worth over $10 million. That is certainly enough money to afford a high life. But Kristen Bell chooses not to. Apparently she loves coupons. She frequently looks for coupons whenever she has to buy anything to cut costs. If possible, she even steals coupons from her neighbors. That is totally strange, but that also makes her one of the few celebrities that live frugally.
4. Carrie Underwood
Carrie has made quite a name for herself. She is a seven-time Grammy winner and has sold over 60 million records. However, she hasn’t allowed the money to affect her simple country roots. She would rather do her own shopping than pay someone else to do it. She even saves on shopping by using coupons. She also cooks her own food, and when she has to buy it elsewhere, she spends a couple of bucks on a Subway sandwich. 5. Warren Buffett
If there ever was a famous person worth emulating it would be Warren Buffet. Despite being one of the world’s wealthiest people and amassing a fortune worth over $90 billion, Warren lives a humble life. He bought his current house back in 1958, which cost him just $31,500. Since then, he has never moved or built a mega mansion like many rich people do. Warren probably spends his money on more important things – like more business investments.
6. Zooey Deschanel
Zooey has been a steady figure in the television industry. She starred in New Girl – where she got most of her fame. It turns out she spends her money wisely – mostly from sitcom paychecks. She saves more than half her monthly salary and doesn’t accrue debts on any of her three credit cards.
7. Mick Jagger
The English singer credits his frugal lifestyle to the 1950s generation. He admits that people born in that era rarely throw away things nor spend extravagantly. His ex, Marianne, was surprised to find out how “tight” he was with his money. Whether Mick is stingy or not we’ll never know.
