Early Life, Childhood and Education

She was born under the zodiac sign of Aquarius on the 14th February 1988,a in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, one of three children of Anastasia and George Spiridakos. Apart from being of Canadian nationality and white ethnicity, she is also of Greek ancestry through her father’s side. Alongside her two brothers, Tracy spent her early years growing up in Skala, Greece, before settling in Canada in 1992. She matriculated from Oak Park High School before enrolling at the Actors Training Centre of Manitoba.

Due to her origin, she is a fluent speaker of Greek, and is taking great care of her cultural heritage.

Early Career

Interested in acting from her junior years, upon completing her studies in 2007, Spiridakos relocated to Vancouver to pursue a career in the moviemaking industry full time. She didn’t need to wait long as her debut acting engagement occurred not long after, when she appeared in a support role in an episode of the “Supernatural” TV series.

Establishing herself as a promising young actress, Tracy Spiridakos came to greater prominence in 2011, when she appeared in the TV series “Mortal Kombat: Legacy”, after which she appeared in the Oscar nominated Sci-Fi drama film “Rise of the Planet of the Apes”. This was followed by her recurring role in the television supernatural horror drama series “Being Human” in 2012,  starring as Brynn McLean.

However, the real breakthrough in Tracy’s acting career came later that year, when she began her collaboration with the two-time Primetime Emmy Award-winning producer J.J., and started appearing in the NBC TV’s post-apocalyptic Sci-Fi series “Revolution”, following the world after the global electrical blackout, set in the near future. She was cast for the leading role of Charlotte ‘Charlie’ Matheson and continued through the show’s two-season-long run, before it was eventually cancelled in 2014.

For her great performance, in 2013 Tracy was honored with a nomination for the Saturn Award for Best Actress on Television, awarded by the American Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films.

In 2015, Spiridakos appeared in a couple of episodes of “Bates Motel” TV horror mystery drama series, as well as in the TV comedy movie “The History of Us”.

Since then, she has been starring in the leading role of Detective Hailey Upton from the Unit of the 21st District, and has so far appeared in 70 episodes.

Additionally, since 2018, she’s portrayed the same character in two of the show’s spin-off TV series productions, entitled “Chicago Med” and “Chicago Fire”. In 2020, Tracy again appeared as Hailey Upton, this time in an episode of the TV mystery crime drama series “FBI”.

She is of slim build with a toned figure, standing 5ft 6ins (1.68 m) tall, sporting long blue hair and blue-colored eyes. When it comes to her private life, it has been publicly disclosed that Tracy was engaged to a fellow colleague, a Canadian actor Jon Cor.
