Troy Kotsur was born on 24 July 1968. His birth name is Troy Michael Kotsur. His birth place is in Mesa, Arizona in the United States. He holds an American nationality.   • He played the stage roles of Stanley in A Streetcar Named Desire, Lenny in Of Mice and Men, and Prince Hamlet in Ophelia. 
  • He starred in the 2001 Deaf West Theatre production of the 1985 musical, Big River. Its success led the play to be performed at the Mark Taper Forum, then to a Broadway revival under Roundabout Theater Company, and Deaf West at the American Airlines Theater.
  • He played recurring roles on the tv series, Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye. He was also an ASL specialist for the show.

  • He directed the 2013 feature film, No Ordinary Hero: The SuperDeafy Movie.
  • He garnered international recognition for his supporting role in the 2021 feature film, CODA. In the film, Kotsur played the deaf father to a hearing teenage daughter.
